Not today I don't. I awoke with an enormous migraine headache. I get them chronically, and I just wasn't able to make it to church today. I'm there in spirit, though! ;-)

I don't think guilty is the word. It seems like it's so boring. I can do what I do there sitting on my couch in front of the tv, and I get to wear my jeans and have a cup of coffee while I'm doing it. Church, as in a church service, to me would be a place where people come together as a community to (actively) worship together.

Not in the least. I haven't gone to a regular church service, outside of funerals and weddings, in probably 15 years.
Church used to mean something incomprehensible when I was a kid. The guy up there was saying something, but I didn't have a clue what it meant. Then they switched to english, and I could understand what he said, but I didn't see how it related to me. Finally it got to be a bore. Eventually I just decided it wasn't for me, and I've never looked back, or regretted the decision.

"NO", I sure dont, because I watched "Joel Osteen" on tv, this morning. I feel if you pray and believe your prayers, and read the bible that church is wherever, you are! You know. I used to tend three times a week when I lived in Laughlin Nv. And I had to drive all the way to Bullhead City, AZ., to go to church, on those three times a week, with three small children... And let me tell you, in those days, I was burning both ends, working two jobs, going to church three times a week, and raising three small children as a "single parent" was so hard on me!! I thought several times I would have a nervous breakdown!! So, now I still am a "Firm Believer" and pray everyday, and still write down my prayers, and still have alot of "Faith" in my God above, to still answer my prayers! I even still tithe, my 10%, every month, too!! Church is all good & well. and I am not discouraging people to not go at all..but, I feel if you still have God in your heart, and try to be obedient, and pray, tithe, and read His word as much as you can, that God is not going to repremand us, for not going, you know. Besides, I get a real good blessing from watching church on tv, too!!! Smile!!!

The church means the body of Christ. As for feeling guilty because I did not go to meeting, no. I lost all guilt at the cross 2000 years ago by the Blood Sacrifice of Jesus. Hallelujah.
But I will be watching any number of Ministers on TV and the Internet today.. In fact I've got K. Copeland on the net right now, the Sunday Telecast. You can go there if you want kcm.org

The only church I feel guilty of not being in now is the place in London that the Australians call church and is full of partying backpackers drinking the amber nectar

i don't go to church, and I do not feel guilty. I believe in god and do pray on somewhat of a regular basis (at least once a week), but i do not like what churches are. So many hypocrites go to church, pray there, read a verse or to their, have communion (depending on the religion), and drop a few coins in the collection plate then think thats it, that they are good for another week. I don't need other people to tell me what my god is, too many wars start because of people trying to push their beliefs on others, or thinking one group is "evil and wrong" because they don't believe the same thing. I believe in god and i call him god... whatever other people choose to call him/her is fine, all that matters is whatever you believe in stands for goodness, nonviolence...etc... i don't believe we need a church or middle man to communicate.

A true Christian realizes that the building of a church itself does not save. I DO enjoy fellowshipping with my friends from church when I can make it, but it's hard when you have to work Sundays to get to church.
Do I feel guilty? Nope, God knows that I have to take care of my kids. I talk to Him all the time, not just on Sunday morning.
______________
No, I don't believe in God or any other religion it is all fake to make you give money to churches.
----------
This is the second time this morning I have seen this, the first as an insult directed at me. I would like to point out that the money I give to my church when I go, helps pay my pastor's salary, as he has a family to feed too. Would anyone here enjoy working for NOTHING? Because I can tell you, I do NOT work for my health, or as a hobby. I work to pay my bills.
Also, buildings in operation have expenses. Electric bills, water bills, heating bills. I like to be able to see where I am, I like to use running water, and I enjoy not sitting in a freezing building. Those things take money, and there is only one place to get it. From the generosity of those of us who prefer to have those comforts.

No I don't feel guilty. I'm a home christian, which means I interpret the bible for myself instead of having someone tell me what it means. But, I do go to church events every now and then.

i don't. do you? Church to me is fine to do. But God is everywhere so I can pray to him anywhere not just church. He is loving and forgiving so not being in church is okay. God knows I love him and that is what he wants. No biggy not to be in church this morning. Especially when I worked late late last night.
