It's hard to describe the taste, but it's very good on grilled meat or pasta.

Pesto is a olive oil and herb sause
I really like sundried tomato pesto on pasta
use it on pasta, spread it on bread throw it in a salad
here is a recipe
try it you'll like it
Classic Basil Pesto
4 cloves garlic
2 tablespoons pine nuts, toasted
2 cups fresh basil, packed
3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
2 tablespoons parmesan cheese, freshly grated

It's incredible!!! It's just fresh basil, Parmesan, garlic, toasted pine nuts and olive oil. You can toss it with pastas, you can put it on sandwiches, mix it with cream cheese and spread it on crackers, stir into soups, put in lasagna, it's amazing stuff. I love love love it. Give it a try sometime and you'll fall in love too.
