(Or at least the concept of God.)

Look at that picture (link above)

Each of those galaxies comprises billions of stars, and if the Hubble UDF represents only one tiny part of the whole sky which is actually 12.7 million times bigger, we can only wonder at how many galaxies, stars and solar systems might fill our universe. If God or Allah created all of this, He did so an incredibly long time ago. If Man is the reason for Creation, why has intelligent Man’s existence only been for the last few thousand years? If Time since creation was a kilometre long piece of rope, intelligent Man is represented only by the last half-CENTIMETER!!!

If Man is the purpose of creation, why did it take so long to create Man? And what’s with all the over-the-top elaborate sky decorations? Surely some painted white dots on a big canvas hung around the Earth would have sufficed?

God spoke all things into existence. He didn't need your idea of time to make us. How do we limit His ability to create when He has done such marvelous things.

No..it compliments God and His handy work. God is a Creator. He is always on the move and He creates. You asked why so long? Let me ask you this. If you or I was the creator which we both know that we are not, could we put together such a marvelous creation and life in all it's perfection in the time frame that He has chosen. We both know that we could not. God has a very big imagination and His Idea of beauty and wonders takes us to new levels of amazement to His remarkable deeds. Big bangs don't do what He has done, He receives all the glory and honor. PEACE!!!

Man is the main purpose of creation but I believe that the problem of the age of the universe lies in our limited understanding of time and the speed of light. Einstein proved that time is not constant. For instance, a clock at 10,000 feet would move at a faster rate than a clock at sea level. Also, we assume that the speed of light has remained constant throughout the course of time. When we factor in black holes we realize that scientists are ill equipped to answer questions of the age of the universe.

Thats my favourite photo of all time (almost literally if you realise you actually looking back in time :P). The area covered by this photo of the sky is the size of a grain of sand held at arms length. I can't look at this and feel anything but insignificant.

Who ever said man is the purpose of creation? Only God knows the true purpose, and it is not our right to question Him.

verry good. Nice statement in the details. No is the answer though. The religious take everything that should stun them and make them wonder as further evidence of their religious belief.

Because God is Imaginary. He didn't create the universe

Why does god allow so much suffering? because god is imaginary.

Why wont god answer prayers and heal and feed people who are ill or starving? because god is imaginary.

Why won't god prove he exists? because god is imaginary.

Why is there so much suffering? because god is imaginary.

Why don't people "Understand and know god like I do?" because god is imaginary, and your the one imagining him.

Etc. There are so many questions that have that one same simple answer.
