The congestion charge is a bad idea. It is just another way of making more money from the motorist. We have to pay for Insurance, Car Tax, MOT's, and we are taxed heavily on petrol (one of the highest taxations in Europe)
The congestion charge wa soriginally proposed to reduce the amount of traffic going into central london, now the western extension has proved that congestion has nothing to do with it. It is just another way of making money for the idiots in parliamen to waste.
How can anyone say that paying £8 per day to travel into london is a good idea obviously do not drive / need there car for work.
I live in croydon and travel to Hendon to work every day. Easy enough i hear you say, the link from East Croydon to Victoria is excellent, and then its just a matter of getting a tube to hendon.
Well if people want to do a bit of homework, try this one. I start work anytime from 04:00 - 06:00 each day, and finish at 16:00hrs. I cannot get to work easily by public transport at that time, yet when i finish i have to travel back through the congestion charge zone. That is ot right, and it is not fair. Still, cant complain, over a million people have registered there disapproval of he road charging scheme, and do you really think that will stop them going ahead?

GOOD!!! More please. There are too many people with too many cars making too many pointless journeys. If people thought before they drove we wouldn't have half the congestion we do and congestion charging wouldn't be an issue.
(Mind you the government could help by not positively encouraging people to drive and deliberately running down public transport - as successive governments have done for at least 70 years)

It's good, because that way, people will use more bikes to travel or will use the wonderful tube MIND THE GAP!, they will be healthier since use a bike is a wonderful exercise! Can you imagine going in your bike under the blue sky of westminster!!!
And of course there will be less traffic, so people who want to pay the charge will get more value for it as they will be traveling more confortably.
It is also good because the government will be able to get more money to invest in the improvement of british quality of life
See, with congestion charge everybody wins!!!!

extremely bad for Manchester, there are 2 main roads which lead into City Centre from Bury-they plan to charge for 1 which means everyone will use the other one which is already too busy. Some people rely on this road being slightly less congsted than the other to get to places quicker (ie; we have to travel down it to take my cancer riddled mum to her chemo appointment weekly which already takes 1 hour in the heavy traffic-it would be horrendous for her if it took longer and to be charged on top of it is a P**s take!).Plus we have to regularly take my paraplegic Mother-in law on these roads,we can't take her by public transport so will cost a fortune and she can't be in the car too long because of intense pain so sitting in the extra traffic on the alternative routes will be a nightmare.
They should sort out the public transport here in Manchester first before thinking of implementing this charge-the buses are always late & over crowded, trams are forever breaking down or halted because of various excuses, when they do run there are never enough carriages, the train doesn't run along the route they plan to charge for and cycling is out because of the idiot drivers. it's a joke!!

positioned a pan of water on the range and get it boiling. do away with it, take a seat the pan on the table and make a tent over your head and the pan with a towel and breath in the steam. it is going to help get issues moving and get your nostril working. in case you have any Vicks Vapo Rub, positioned a spoonful of that into the boiling water and enable it soften. Or in case you have any needed oils like lavender, eucalyptus positioned that into the water. in case you will get your sinuses to start working, it ought to help with the earache. do no longer take Nyquil anymore, attempt taking a antihistamine with a nasal decongestant like Claritin D or Alavert D. Take some ibruprofen for the ear soreness.

(London):
More like he's shot himself in the foot over the extension because people from the western extension will now have to pay the residents rate for their area BUT this will entitle them to travel into the existing zone AT NO EXTRA CHARGE, so they can all go trolling round town in their 4x4s with impunity - and that was JUST what he was trying to stop. Not such a clever old c o ck are you, Mr.L, after all ! ! !

Good. Too many people driving these days too much pollution in London. I cycle around London and I can see how disgusting the road is with all the pollution that is happening. It's bad for everyone. especially the people that either walk or cycle to work as they inhale the most of it and cause none of it!

Road tax and VAT and excise duty and tolls, so evidently what every motorist needs is more reasons to hand over there hard earned to pay for more and more Labour follies. Any regressive tax is bad by definition.
