i get so much crap for dating a white boy? for black guys in particular?

why do i get so much crap for dating a white guy? and for some reason i get most of the crap for black guys, when they are the ones who date outside of their race more than anyone else, and when i say well u date white girls they tell me that that is different how is it different. And then they will say that i am too fine and pretty to date a white boy???

not all black guys do that, but i just want to know what's up with this!

i just want to understand does it remind some of you of slavery or something that is what my friend told me

Well speaking from a white side I think most black guys just think it cool to date a white girl (sort of a big trip or something like that?) Now on the other hand it kind of unusually for a white guy to date a black girl but who knows why? Its to bad that god gave us all different colors on the outside but on the inside most of us humans are just same and only want companionship. Hard question to answer in a short way but maybe its jealousy or something like that? Oh well someday all the races will be mixed up and it won't make a difference who dates who or who marries who. Well good luck on your dating thing and if it goes further then that good as the world needs more understanding couples of mixed relations.

They're just jealous. And I think the only reason they date outside of their race is to get some action most of the time...unfortunatly. Sorry if this sounds racist because it's not, and I'm not. All of it's a touchy subject I guess. Society isn't really over racism yet. A lot of people are still racist in some way. Even if it's not like a hate thing. It all has to do with stereotypes and crap. But I say if you like the guy you're with stick with him and if you get crap from anybody just let it go because it don't matter.

The answer is easy, they are jealous! I am black and I dont think race has to do with who you like or love. If you are not used to seeing interacial couples it may just seem strange but not to remind someone of slavery, thats rediculous. Tell those guys if they knew how to treat women in thier own race or was more attractive maybe they wouldn't have to worry about that! lol

We all have our preference on whom we wish to date. You just happen to like white guys. In the meantime you are bruising the egos of the black guys. These men that say mean and hurtful things to you are immature and selfish, and you should let it go in one ear and out the other. They think it's ok to date white women, but you can't date a white guy? Double standard. They need to grow up. Date whomever you want. Do what makes YOU happy.

It has nothing to do with slavery. When will people learn that not every situation between whites and blacks has racist connotations or harkens back to slavery?

The guys hassling you are using a double standard...plain and simple. It's okay for them to date outside their race, but not for women of their race to do so.

Ignore the small minded people and associate with whomever you please. It would be nice if more people spent time with others and made friends or lovers based on the content of someone's character instead of the color of their skin.

this is just a guy thing i think because my boyfriend and love of my life is white and the mexican guys i know will talk about him just being a stupid white boy and some even ask my mom if it bothers her that im not with a mexican. they are just ignorant and jealous, the way they see it i think is that they are with someone of another race its ok because they are male but for a woman to do it is turnin her back on her race...i've been called a race traitor because i never met a mexican who would treat me good. its just the guys fear that women are actually wanting to be treated as more than a peice of meat.

Jealousy. Just tell them,"He treats me right!" And If they still don't get it say, WHOA! Did you hear what I just said? Think about it!" I had a black lady friend. Best friend I ever had. I would find white guys looking at her as she was very pretty, an Ex model and was sure they were thinking,"She sure is pretty, but I shouldn't be starring at her 'cause she's black. And I could imagine the jealousy of the Blacks looking at us and thinking what's one of our women doing with that "Cracker" and especially as pretty as she is. I would just smile and say, "Beautiful isn't she," And enjoy watching them walking away muttering :Yea she is." One of the most beautiful women I've ever been with.

My husband is Hispanic and the people who have given us the most grief over our relationship have been Hispanic women. That really puzzled me at first, but the more I thought about it, the more I realized that the women who acted that way probably felt threatened. That his choice in me as a partner was in someway saying that they were not pretty or good enough. Of course, we know that is ridiculous, but I think that is an insecurity that is across the board when people see someone dating or marrying outside their race.

Of course, I know that my marriage is based on love, compatibility, common values and respect, but when someone outside of our relationship looks at us, they may see only the skin color and make assumptions based on their own experiences.

Jealousy rears its ugly head once again. The truth is it has nothing to do with the race, but race is a convenient way to express it. The guys who are badgering you about who you date think it should be them. They will continue to use anything they can to try to push your buttons in an immature ploy to get your attention, not unlike pulling your hair or throwing spitballs in kindergarten. Ignore them. They eventually will find new things to do.
