I had an aunt who died of cancer. She dropped a few pounds, she wasn't necessarily fat, just healthy. She was svelte when she dropped about 20 lbs. She said, I don't know why, I have no appetite.
It's not about eating what you want, cancer reduces appetite. That may be a sign of more likely a tape worm or something. Check it out with your doc for a diagnosis.

There are a number of reasons why people with cancer lose weight.
Anorexia (loss of appetite) is one.
People with cancer may not absorb nutrients normally, and may require more calories than they previously did. Some cancers may release chemicals into the blood that cause increased metabolism, leading to loss of fat and muscle. (Which is why cancer patients look like they are wasting away, not just thin)
Cancer treatments can also be rough on the digestive system.
If you have persistent, unexplained weight loss, it's worth a trip to the doctor to find out why.

When my cancer was active I found that it was easy to not eat. So yes there is a loss of appetite. But also I found that it seemed that I had to force myself to eat extra to just keep my weight. The cancer does make your body work overtime, and the great fatigue and weakness is evidence of that.

Cancer tumors set up their own support system, and they literally suck the nutrition out of the body to support themselves. They also set up their own blood supply, oxygen supply and the tumor pretty much just works to serve itself and get bigger.
