Sounds like the uninstall failed. Can you try installing a new version over top what you have on your system now? FireFox should just overwrite what you have and correct any of the problems you are currently experiencing.

The discrepancy between the browser and the instant messenger working is likely a configuration difference between the applications. They could have had different proxy settings, gateways, etc.... If a reinstall of FireFox doesn't work, consider clearing out your profile for Mozilla (C:\Documents & Settings\\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles) and relaunching FireFox. NOTE: This will also clear bookmarks so make a copy if you want to retain them (the bookmarks.html file).

It feels like all of those would properly be defective: a million. undesirable connection from pc to community change 2. undesirable connection from community change to router 3. community change no longer operating or defective 4. router no longer operating or defective. 5. undesirable connection from router to modem 6. modem defective or no longer operating 7 undesirable modem or undesirable connection to modem from ISP. 8. undesirable community configuration on your pc you want to troubleshoot all of those till you discover the fault and then fix it.
