i cannot imagine a place such as hell being allowed by jesus.. and i graduated from a christian highschool, so i have read the bible..
why would such a forgiving and loving person, such a jesus, allow a person to be sentenced to an eternity of misery for a misdeed committed upon this earth? especially when he has already acknowledged that we are not perfect and can never be truly free from the sins that will commit here?
and to all of those who feel that this is an attack, it is not.. it is simply a question about a religion that i have a deep respect for.. and if youre like the one person that answered my last question by stating that "i was homosexual," i find that hilarious, and i hope to hear from you.. because i have not stopped laughing for the last five minutes, and i have never experienced such a prolonged pleasure in my life, outside the bedroom

and i know that this is all about ME, and i feel bad asking this at the same time i am asking a question about one's god, but if you believe that i am asking good questions, i would love to hear that.. because i have received a lot of responses, and good responses at that, and i will be more motivated to ask the questions i have if people believe that they are questions about christianity that will allow people to learn and understand the varying perspectives persons have about the religion.. and if you read through all of this, wow.. you have a lot more patience than i do, or you may be on a stronger medication.. lol.. jk

I am not sure that hell is a place where people suffer forever. All i can find in the bible about hell is it a place without God. Mayhap, (for a person who chose not to believe), Finding out they were wrong is all hell is.

You know the answer to this question, didn't you graduated from Christian High School.........You need to be born again........... It's all about free will, remember John 3:16 if you believe and accept the Son of God as your Lord and Savior your name will be written in the book of life and you will not taste hell.

Well think of it this way, why didn't God cast satan to the planet closes to the sun, a type of hades anyways, where he could not mess with God's creation, because afterall, God is all knowing, and why put that tree of knowledge in the garden anyways, so sin could enter the world??? People look at God as if he were a wimp, he could have destroyed his creation-satan and yet he put him on earth and gave him a place he could actually, in the end, take over, or take away from God, but God got it back thru jesus when jesus died on the cross and crossed satan's head. Then you have to look at how many times God calls his people into his presence by a still small voice...those that are unsaved...you don't think he just lets them walk around all the time without places people in their lives and talking to them and giving them chances to get saved??? Then he gives people a chose and he gave satan a chose, and famine, murder and serial killers and kinds of things happen and God allows it and you ask why there is a hell awaiting those that have been given a chance to get saved are now doomed to burn forever. Lets think of it this way, what a terrible God we have...but most people who have suffered by serial killers and murders do not even think that is enough. How about a parent who finds out their kids has been sexually abused for years and then the person goes free and is still on the streets, or the serial killer who killed their daughter who was never caught, ot the Hitler, should he not be sent to hell to burn after killing and burning a million Jews. How about if you had a daughter who was raped and killed, wouldn't you want them to burn in you-know-where, if the murdered was never caught, I think i made my point.

To answer your question: a cruel man believes in a cruel God, Thomas Paine has great wisdom especially when it comes to christianity.
I became an ex christian at 25, i realized that christianity wasnt worth all the trouble and heartache, neither was the relationship with Jesus, so I opted to pray for guidance, and i found myself into Taoism, a philosphy/religion created by a chinese wise man. ALthough I learned there is deep wisdom in Asian religions, I will never forget the things christians have done, in the past and present, I know about the Holocaust, witchtrials, Inquisition and Crusades, and i know not a true christian is a cop out at best a lie at worst. I will never forget what happened to my friends, they were beaten in the street by christians because they were Pagan or gay, and I think that some day those christians that have wronged others will get thier just desserts. Even my husband was almost dragged out of the car by four fundamentalist christians.

The scholarly answer that I have received for the existence of hell is this: for the unsaved heaven will be an utterly miserable place to be---they will be totally out of place. The creation of hell is actually a merciful act of God because it gives the unsaved a place to go where there is no God, no Jesus, a place of familiarity. In other words, they can continue the misery for eternity that they have experienced all their lives on earth. Heaven would be a greater misery because they would be forced to do things that they would not want to do such as worship the Lord Jesus Christ day and night. I am not trying to be funny---I am serious with this response. God is merciful and loving in everything that he does. We may not be able to always see this love and mercy, but it is there.

when God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son so all should not perish.
People fail to realize God tried to destroy his creation with the flood. He found favor in Noah and spared him.
God created human BEINGS perfect. After the fall is when it all changed. Our disobedience to his law is sin. Sin is what keeps a wedge between us and our heavenly creator.
God sent his son Jesus(human form of him) to pay a debt we could not pay, that through the Holy Spirit we might again regain everlasting life. It is a choice.
Jesus didn't allow anything. God is allowing us to choose b/c of the choices Satan made and now there will be a "sentencing" if you will. Satan is trying to kill as many human BEINGS as he can b/c he knows how much he loves us. We chose to eat and have this knowledge, now that it is here as wonderful as it would be to walk in the garden with our creator and not have this ultimate end to life here on earth, it is too late. We now have to choose Life which is through Christ and the Holy Spirit makes that tie between us and our Father. Going to hell is a reality. It wasn't always so. We can not change what has taken place but choose to accept the redeemer he sent in our place that we may have a place in heaven and not in hell.
God Bless

So. You find yourself creating lots of Strange rationalisations for why god would allow hell to exist for people who disobey him, and work on the sabbath day, and weren't virgins when they married, or were gay, etc.
There is a simple answer for this: God is imaginary, and hell doesn't exist. The idea of "Sin" as a crime against god, is bunk.
Things can be Morally Wrong, but that is different from what religion says is Right and Wrong.
And yes, I'm pretty much homosexual, and if you think that's funny, you must be completely immature.

If I remember correctly, He suffered and died on the cross so that our sins would be forgiven. He died so that we could have eternal life. He gave us free will so that we could choose how to spend it.
Asking how hell can exist is like asking why there is any suffering. If God is truly all powerful why does he allow these things to exist? Why do the children go hungry? Why the natural disasters, the wars?
We as Christians do not purport to know all of the answers. Belief is based on faith. Faith is believing that which no one can prove to you, but that you know in your heart and soul is true. It is a mystery of our faith.
*****There is nothing wrong with your questions. You are exploring and questioning your faith which is normal. Especially among younger people. The important thing is you are investing time in your spirituality and hopefully it will lead you to peace knowing that God is with you in your quest for answers. By the way, all answers will lead to God.

I think your question is awesome.
I am a Christian and I have a difficult time thinking Jesus would send anyone to hell. However, one needs to appeal to God and seeks forgiveness in Jesus, then his sins are forgiven. He is cleansed. His relationship with God is restored, and he is made a new creature (2 Cor. 5:17). All of this is the work of God, not man. Salvation is a free gift (Rom. 6:23).
May God Bless and Keep you in all you do.

Hi there, I missed the other question;
I study in the original manuscripts, and I can say with a guarantee, that there is no place written where anybody, even satan, is going to burn like bacon for an eternity.
At the end of the 1000 yr period after Christ returns (which will be for teaching and disipline) then comes the judgement. The Lake of Fire will turn those to ashes from within; the only thing thats eternal is the smoke that rises up forever and ever. Smoke does that.
God will not have this eternal suffering, while all those who "make it" sit there and enjoy themselves while they watch it. Its not written, and its horrible to imagine that our Father would do that. Well, He wouldn't.
