Not much. You see, Microsoft got fed up with all of the people stealing their software, so they built some strict anti-piracy measures into Vista. Each copy of Vista has its own unique code, and that code can only be used on one computer. When you enter the code, the computer connects to Microsoft's servers and records information on the computer before activating Vista. If that code has already been used to activate Vista on another computer then it won't activate on a second one. If it doesn't activate, then it goes into reduced functionality mode - it deletes your start menu and desktop icons and won't let you do anything except connect to the microsoft store to purchase Vista legally. It also turns your computer off after an hour.

In short, you have to buy your own copy.

You will be asked for the code during the installation of Vista to prove that you have a valid license. Using someone else's code would be illegal.
