Whoever has Windows Vista, here's a question for you. Is it really as good as Windows claims it is or is it just a load of crap. Are there significant differences? also, what do you like best about it?

Its pretty cool but you need a fast computer (2+GHz, 2GB RAM, 256MB Video card) for it to run smoothly. Otherwise it will run slower than XP.

Not a lot of differences. The Start Menu, Control Panel, My Computer and a few other properties are changed a bit, but nothing significant. It has a dynamic Search tool which finds files and apps as you're typing the name and improved graphics including 3D Windows scrolling, a preview window for the task bar and a Gadget Bar.

Overall, not a significant improvement over XP. I have Vista running at work but I'm staying with XP at home.

I have benn testing windows for 4 months now. I hate it. My wife hates it and my project this week is to reinstall XP. I have a 4 month and a 6 month old computer and after about 2 months of use it becomes so sluggish and it constantly nags you to do this and don't do that. Worst operating system ever. I guess that is why Vista sales are well below XP sales even though there are like a billion more computers on the planet now.

Well to answer your question! Windows Vista looks much better kind of like a Mac but it's only better whe it comes to the design! Not faster or anything!

The GUI is really nice, but it's also pretty buggy. I'm also have a lot of compatibility issues with my software. I'd recommend waiting until they release service pack 1 before upgrading.

It's okay. I don't know enough about computers to see the big differences. It is very secure. It always asks you about programs it sees running. it is more aesthetic too.
