Don't over brush your hair. It may increase the greasiness by distributing the scalp oil through your hair. Use a shampoo meant for oily hair. And shampoo every other day. You can use a dry shampoo (or plain corn starch) in between if hair gets too greasy. Shampooing everyday may aggravate oil production. Hope this helps.

I've had oily hair ever since I hit puberty. Let me tell you, I've tried almost all of the oily hair shampoos out there... drugstore brands, salon, all-natural... and I have yet to find a product that truly helps.

I don't really think there's much we can do to get rid of this problem, but I find that any type of clarifying shampoo followed by a light conditioner on the ends only will help. The Pantene clarifying shampoo -- it's a clear blue color -- will give you a deep clean without making your hair feel like straw. I also like the Aussie shampoo and conditioner (it just changed it's name to "double mend") a lot. It treats and greasy scalp AND dry ends.

Finally, don't run your fingers through your hair too much -- otherwise, it will get even more oily!

Wash daily, dont touch it with your hands throughout the day, use a brush that has natural bristles so any greasies on top will brush down to the bottom where you need more oil because its more dry on the ends. Also try finding a shampoo made for greasier hair. If you have light hair I heard you can sprinkle a little bit of baby powder and brush through. Dont do it if your hair is dark though!

there are special shampoos for greasy hair, those should help you out with your problems. I myself have greasy hair and wash it with Head & Shoulders. With it, I don't have to wash it everyday, and also protect it from dandruff. You should give it a try.

Yes, washing it helps. But if you can't wash it (you're running late, etc.), sprinkle baby powder along your roots. It will absorb excess oil.

Also, there is a product called Pssst dry shampoo. Great for people who have long hair and don't want to wash it daily.

If you are washing daily, DO NOT use a shampoo for oily hair. It can and does over dry hair, causing your scalp to produce MORE OIL.
Use a shampoo for normal hair.

wash your hair regular but if you can't wash it every day, put some baby powder in your hair then rub with a towel.. the powder gets rid of the excess oil for the time being.
