How can i lock the desktop icons to the size i choose and stop them changing postions so they stay fixed as when i turn my pc off and return they are larger icons and have moved again ! Thanks

to lockdown the icon position: right click the blank desktop area, select Arrange Icon by >> Align to Grid

I don't understand the large icon you are talking about. But try this, again, Desktop area >>> Properties >>> Appearance tab (on top) >>> Effect >>> uncheck the "Use Large Icon" >>> OK >>> OK. Restart and check see if this help
