If you are "sick and broke," some of the suggestions you have received do not seem feasible. Some of them, like painting or moving your furniture, require physical energy that you may not have if you are sick or recuperating. Earning money shoveling snow may be a difficult, if not impossible, feat for you as well.
If you are broke, you don't have money for new hobbies or things to keep you occupied. So, you must try to work with what you've got and do the best you can until you are up and around. Are you broke because you've lost work time due to illness? You certainly need to take care of yourself physically and try to get back on your feet again.
You can always read for pleasure and engage in some "self education" in a subject you enjoy or think you'd like to learn more about. The Internet offers a virtual classroom for self-learning in just about every area you could think of. You could learn about feng-shui or container gardening, Chinese herbs, or bread baking. You could get information on any state or country in the world, or learn about your favorite (or least favorite) animal. You could learn to paint or draw or sew a pillow or build a birdhouse.
You could get inspired with articles or budgeting or cooking thrifty meals, learning about stocks and bonds and making an investment. Learn about the presidents and their families, or read about the lifestyles of the rich and famous! You may find some of it so ludricrous you're glad to be "You," living in your humble digs and trying to stretch those dollars!
You could probably even learn a foreign lanuguage, or something new in computer technology.
You could try keeping a journal or writing poetry. Work crossword puzzles or word games in the paper. Find an online buddy to converse with. Have some friends over for coffee or hot tea and some board games or t.v.
Don't let yourself become depressed due to being cooped up in the house. Do what you can to get yourself well and healthy, and
take small steps. Stay centered and focused. With positive self-affirmations, vow to make this time as productive and happy as you can. Good luck! Remember the sickness and the hard times - and the winter - will pass.

Well when that was me about 4 years ago, I moved to Florida, found a better job, and have never been sick since.
But that is a big step to pick up and move.
As for something little to do, then best thing you can do is try to entertain yourself with the things you already have, like your computer or movies or games so you dont buy anything else. Then just keep telling yourself that things will get better and before you know it they will!

I suggest you obtain employment. Pay down your debt and consider either relocation or education as a goal in your life.
