Spybot - Search & Destroy detects and removes spyware, a relatively new kind of threat not yet covered by common anti-virus applications. Spyware silently tracks your surfing behaviour to create a marketing profile for you that is transmitted without your knowledge to the compilers and sold to advertising companies. If you see new toolbars in your Internet Explorer that you haven't intentionally installed, if your browser crashes inexplicably, or if your home page has been "hijacked" (or changed without your knowledge), your computer is most probably infected with spyware. Even if you don't see the symptoms, your computer may be infected, because more and more spyware is emerging. Spybot-S&D is free.

With any program, be it antivirus or not, you will have people who will tell you good and bad things about it. And if you try 2 different programs, it's almost guarenteed you will like somethign from program A and something from program B. Now if you're like me, you'lll look at that and say to yourself, wouldn't it be nice if I could find a program that incorpporates both A and B.... now we have to take a trip back to reality from our lovely world of everything working out perfectly.
If you want antivirus programs you have to do research because there is a million of them.

First, do you want paid virus software or free??

If you want free, I would recommend Avast. I used to use McAfee and I found at times something wouldn't work and I changed to Avast. My husband originally used Norton and he had issues with it, his mom still uses that, and his aunt uses AVG.

If you are thinking about going to free stuff, please check out the website that my husband and I have. If you go to the Tools page you will see a list of programs that we use and they're all free. We have antivirus, firewall, spyware, word programs, audio programs, etc... http://4einc.info

Good luck and I hope you check out our site and see all the programs as well as everything else we offer. Have a great weekend.

Norton is the best and it is very easy to use and it updates itself or you can set it to update inself every week and you will not have any problems with it its great. Take care Heather
