do a lot of research online and determine your goals. when ur ready to start remember to incorporate weight training, cardio and the watch your diet. along with ur motivation and support system, those 3 things will help u get closer to and achieve whatever u goal u set out for urself.
if u decide to join a gym, it's pretty intimidating sometimes seeing a few people in there in such great shape. keep your mind off
that and focused on u. sometime results dont come as quickly as u want, but dont get discouraged.
goodluck!

Start small, if a short walk is a workout for you start there and work your way up. You don't want to start a hard workout and be too sore to continue after the first week.
You want to do something you like and are willing to make a permanet part of your routine, not just workout till you lose the weight and then stop, the weight will come back and be even harder to get rid of the next time.

It is very simple....go outside and go walking. Go at a faster than normal pace...make yourself breath hard. Do this for about 30 minutes at a time to start..4 times a week. Then when you get home. Do some push ups. Simple and you need no equipment. This is an excellent upper body workout. Do 3 sets of about 15 repetitions each. You can also do sit ups for you stomach muscles, and if you have a place to hang on, you can do pull ups, great for the back and shoulders. Do these four exercises along with running 4 times a week and gradually increase your pace( walking\running) and repetitions and you will do great. Also watch what you eat..a reasonable diet is essential here as well.

First make a plan on the days of the week and the time you are going to work out. Decide what kind of workout you are going to do. Walking or excercises etc. and how long you plan on doing these for then do it. Unless you have a plan you will never start.
Good Luck.

What do you like? What are you capable of doing?
Walking, jogging, aerobics, rollerblading, bicycle riding, etc. Do what you like that will keep you interested. If you aren't used to physical activity shoot for 30 mins a day 3 or 4 days a week...work up to an hour or more 5 days a week.

go to the gym at least 3 times a week and cut out some of those calories....remember weight lifting will make you gain weight.....running on the treadmill is a good way to lose weight....
