My wife and I travel to and from the U.S. about 2 times a year. I am really hating long haul flights and since ours takes 22-30 hours each way, I am looking for some suggestions on feeling good, looking good, and keeping myself entertained. Any suggestions?

Drink lots of water and avoid caffeine and alcohol. The dehydration caused by the dry air in the cabin is the biggest contributor to jet lag. Also, get an isle seat so you can get up frequently and walk around to stretch your legs. I typically bring a DVD player with lots of extra batteries to keep myself occupied.

Good luck with the trip.

I always find it helpful on long flight to get up, stretch, and then go to the lav and brush my teeth, wash my face and hands and brush my hair. It may all feel gross again in an hour or two but it keeps that sludgy feeling gone by moving around and getting clean. Even just washing your hands really well can make a difference.

Also drinking lots of water. The air is so dry it just sucks the moisture out of you.

The best way ever is to bring some books to read, if you're on more than 3 hrs waiting time on connecting flights which I see includes on your way... u better bring something to amuse you and your wife. most likely is a camera where u can take places as a souvenir. Toothbrush and face clothes are necessities too to freshen you up. But the best thing I'll recommend you is...join the mile high club since you have your wife with you. Enjoy your frequent flight.

Join the red carpet club for your airline, and take a shower when you get off the plane.

You can also bring a facecloth and give yourself a mini sponge bath in the lav during the flight.
