I suggest doing some kind of volenteer work. If you like older people there are dozens of lonely people that just need someone to talk to or play cards with. I myself volunteer for the Sexual assault centre in my area. I answer the crisis line and enjoy it very much. They train you and then you aswer pages and just talk to the person as a friend. It helps you meet people and its so much fun sometimes and makes you feel good. So whatever you do volunteer with kids, a youth shelter or disabled persons or the hospital rocking babies or whatever you enjoy, it helps my lonely time very much. Take care Heather

It is easy to spend leisure which comes after a hard day's work. Spending endless leisure is somewhat more difficult. It appears that the lady in question is trying to find some work and not just trying to while away a few extra hours at the end of the day. It is apparent that she is not in need of money.
Being well educated, some kind of academic pursuit should be ideal for her. Reading books comes to the mind first. There is no end to which one can read. But reading for hours on end can be tiring by itself. Educating poor children who can't afford to go to school is a good way to share her knowledge with others as also perform valuable social service. Paid tutions can fetch her a tidy income. Alternatively she can try to write. It can be anything - stories, fiction, poetry, memoirs etc. And who knows, it can turn out to be a great literary work.
Computer and the internet can be a great way of spending idle time profitably. It offers a vast storehouse of information with which she can enrich herself. It also offers an avenue to communicate with people from all corners of the world. She can use a computer with internet to fulfill any number of creative pursuits.
There are many other ways and hopefully other answerers to her question will suggest those. She can then think which one(s) to pick up. Finally, for a human being there is no substitute for human company. She has to befriend people (men or women) from her own level and status with whom she can spend her time and also enjoy.

You have many options:
1. Join a community to help people.
2. Make friends on the net and chat with them.
3. Register in ebay.in and start selling some products which you can find at best of there rates, or some special items which are specially available in your area.
4. Be my email or SMS friend.
5. Write a book.
6. Teach people or give your free service to some social service organisation.

I think volunteering at a local hospital or shelter or retirement community is not only a great use of spare time, but very rewarding in that you feel that you have accomplished something and it helps to remind you how fortunate you are. If you are possibly interested in meeting others, I would also suggest online dating sites. I have had alot of enjoyable times emailing and meeting new friends that way. It does pass the time when you are doing nothing.

Books? Movies? People. she doesn't seem to be active at all. Mabe start taking walks, or little hikes. Meditation or Yoga. Start a blog on line. Sell things on e-bay? If she is depressed, then mabe someone to talk to would help. A good friend. Go out to lunch, Go out to dinner, make aplay date with a gf. so many options. Choose one and get started. Baby steps. Find some activities in which to partake on weekends. Take an exercise (I highly recommend self-defence) or art class. Spend more time with your friends. And most importantly, find something to get angry about. If there isn't an issue in the world that doesn't infuriate you to the point where you say, "I'm gonna do something about it!," then you're missing out on a lot.

I suggest she starts doing some work.
If she does not need money, she can do Social Service or Community Service.
She could also go to any school and Volunteer to fill in for teachers who go on leave.
All the best.

I am an educated girl with lots of free time before I started giving tutions at home. In my free time, I read a lot of knowledgeable books. You too can do that. Giving tutions is quite favourable, you are at home and also earning good.

Give tuition to children - you can pass your knowledge to the generation. You will get respect along with passing your time. Gardening - will cool your mind and pas your time. Write articles to the news columns - analyse the day-to-day happenings around you. You will run short time.
