A woman should wear her hair however she feels best in it. That being said, if her hair is especially thin because of her age, she may not want to wear it long because it wouldn't look right

I cannnot help but answer this with a little bit of humor........

Look at Cher. She's like what? 1,000 years older than God, but she still looks pretty good. Granted, she's had more face lifts than the Sphinx, but that's beside the point.

And what about Demi Moore? I know she's only 45, but I mean, not only is she HOT, but she's got a young hunk like Ashton Kutcher on her arm to boot. Long hair suits her just fine. And I'm sure in 5 more years, it'll still look good on her.

As we age, our hair (as well as our bodies) change. Hair can become drier, coarser, and thinner over the course of our lives.

My feeling is, as long as you cannot read the morning paper through your ends, and as long as your hair is healthy, then go for it.....dependent entirely on whether or not longer hair tends to frame your face well.

Often times, longer hair can "drag" or "pull" the face down -- metaphorically speaking. If you feel that shorter hair makes you look and feel younger, then good. If not, then long hair is just as good. It's strictly a question of how does it make you feel and look on a personal, individual level.

Longer hair, can also open the door for diverse styling such as Up-dos, French Twists, etc.

Speak with coworkers, friends, and family members first, and ask them if they believe YOU (not just women over 50) would look good with longer hair. IF they offer no real help, then consult a stylist. Typically speaking, others see us differently than we see our selves.

Don't let other people dictate what you wear and do. Seriously, why do you care what other people think? I've met women in their 70s and 80s with long hair because they wanted it that way. My grandma is her early 70s (although she looks closer to late 40s and has not had plastic surgery either), she still wears jeans and the like and she doesn't look odd in the least. It's your life so do what makes you happy, whatever that includes.

You should wear your hair however you feel it looks good. If you like it short, cut if off. If you like it long, leave it. In my family people over 50 cut their hair off and then get perms.

I'm not a huge fan of that myself so I won't do it when I get that age. I will just do what I am comfortable doing because it will be me that has to live with my decision.

So, do what ever you feel is comfortable for you!

I'm 50, and I'm growing my hair. It's just at my shoulders now. I like it because I can pull it back, wear it down, and play around with it rather than the same boring cut I've had for years. My hubby is the one encouraging me, because he likes it this way.

Women,no matter how old they are---should wear there hair any way THEY like it. Honey, at 50 I don't have anyone to impress but myself...I do things for me not the public...

I am, uhhh.....almost over 50....smiling....and I wear my colored hair, my once-upon-a-time red hair, just below my shoulders, but the front is cut to just below my jawline and it tapers back bluntly towards the back. I like this cut much better than the cut I recently sported. It helps to soften my ...uhhh....beginning to ...uhhh...sage jawline....smiling.

Long hair is beautiful and youthful. A woman should wear her hair, as well as her spirit, her clothes, her makeup, to her best advantage. Susan Sarandon does and so do I.

Good luck!

Yes, if they want to. I dont see nothin wrong with it. But the older women get the shorter they cut their hair. And i think that's weird. I mean why? As long as they keep it clean and not too long go for it.
