Hi, what a great time we had!!! we had to stay at "SMITHS" as the mill was fully booked but it was very plush and the staff were fantastic. We got married at The Mill and you could not fault the service - we had the best day possible, we would not change a single thing, the food service and staff were excellent. The Mill and Smiths helped with lots of advice including cars, fllowers ect.We had a great photographer called Colin he has a webbie if you want details get back to me. Dont go for a package if its just for a few of you its easy to sort yourself. We even had our rings made at the blacksmiths forge and they are stamped with the Gretna Anvil. we booked and married within 8 weeks and that was an August wedding. Cant fault it at all. GOOD LUCK. xx

Yes! you can have a lovely wedding at Gretna. However, it is just like everywhere else you need to check all that is required by you and book a guest house or hotel. If it is just the 2 of you there will always be someone to stand as witnesses for you. If you are having guests it is just like every other wedding you require to arrange the usual things like cars (sometimes not req'd if living nearby), flowers, rings and a venue for reception. There a good few places and hotels within easy reach. Good luck!

my mate went to gretna to marry but as said by someone else id check availablity because contrary to the fabled 'elope to Gretna' story you may end up disappointed if you simply turn up unannounced.
It doesnt matter where you get married, if you know how you feel for someone and are prepared to spend the rest of your life with that person then it will be the best day of your life regardless of bad weather, wrong flowers or any other minor details.
Dont sweat the details just enjoy it.
I wish you and your Fiance all the best and a life time of happiness together.

I might be wrong but have you checked the waiting list because I heard that you can wait for quite some time at Gretna as it's so popular
