When I brush my hair I can get impatient and pull on my hair. I'm just wondering how to brush without breakage, or if there is a certain brush I should use to reduce breakage. I have long, thin, blonde hair. And a low budget. lol

After you shower, maybe try using Fructis leave-in conditioner called Length and Strength.. just use it on the ends to help reduce the breakage/split ends. Also, only use a wide-toothed comb run through your hair when it is wet or tangled. Once it's dry, brush with short strokes..starting at the bottom of hair until you're able to go through your whole hair without any stops. It's an old wives tale that you brush 100 strokes.. just a bit of brushing should be fine to keep it in place. Go for a brush with the little beaded ends on the bristles. That'll keep from snaggling your hair. Other things you might want to do.. to keep hair at its optimal appearance is to not take very hot showers.. that'll dry it out and make it more suseptible to breakage. Also, if you use products/hairspray.. go for minimal to reduce hair damage. If you clip hair up or use ties, make sure it's not pulled too tight..they can also damage hair. Hope this helps! (-:

Instead of brushing all the way from the root to the ends, slowly start at the ends, detangle, and work your way up (so that your not "ripping" through the entire length of the hair) don't brush so fast, and try some detangler spray. Also, make sure to get your hair trimmed regularly (like a quarter of an inch ever couple of months) to keep it looking health, and to get rid of split ends.

Try brushing your hair right after a shower. Use any type of conditioner. Any type of brush works, except for those wooden ones. If you use one of those, the breakage will just keep getting worse.

first of all you're able to have a minimum of a pair days a week which you do no longer straighten it, straightening your hair incredibly if its curly does countless harm that could no longer be waiting to be thoroughly fastened. I even have wavy hair and that i will tell the wear and tear that's accomplished if I straighten even a pair days in a row. yet to restoration the subject you have now, i might positioned money right into a leave in conditioner, or a hair mask, and use it as quickly as a week. It won't restoration the subject whether it is going to hydrate your hair to assist avert further breakage. however the only actual thank you to restoration chop up ends is to get it cut back. desire I helped!

How about you dont brush your hair. Instead, detangle your hair in the shower with a shower comb. Your hair sounds straight from your description. It will fall into place if you put it in a bun after detangling it. It doesn't need brushing. Its already straight hair.

before brushing, use a wide toothed comb (like 2cm apart) to fix the tangles. its easier to comb when the teeth are farther apart. when the tangles are gone use a finer comb or go on and brush your hair.

using a hair strengthening conditioner should also help with the breakage.

good luck and be good to your hair.

I think you should not brush your hair wet and you should use a soft brush and do it carefully or maybe not brush at all just use a comb. Ask your hairdresser the next time you go.....

Try detangling with a wide-tooth comb while conditioning your hair or while it is wet. Next, be sure to have a quality brush with a cushion.

when your in the shower, bring a comb in there with you and when your conditioning your hair brush your hair with the comb while you have the conditioner in it, then brush it again while your rinsing the conditioner out. that will make it easier to brush when you get out of the shower and brush your hair regulary. thats what works for me.
