How do you become single...?

How do i become single after 5 years. I have been in a really bad relationship for a few years now. I love him with all my heart and sole but neither of us have trust in each other. I dont want to break up but part of me does because i keep getting hurt and he wants all the control. I know he loves me as well. If i was to become single how would i do that knowning i still love him?

If the relationship is not working out and there are no children involved then I would end the relationship.
If you are clueless on how to do this maybe a certified therapist can help you sort out your feelings.
If there are children involved then I would suggest family therapy.

I am single and have been since forever, it is not a very good place to be, sometimes i even wish i would be in an abusive relationship rather than alone.
Girl if you are smart then don`t listen to what i just wrote,
If you are not happy and feel in your heart that what you have with your man is not going anywhere LEAVE.
By staying there you don't know what you are blocking yourself from .
If a man loves you he wont hurt you, if that's what is happening then use the door.
You wont die out of being single, it wont stop you from succeeding in life so go with your heart.
Once you are alone, it will all go with the flow,

Sounds like you're between a rock and a hard place. Maybe you should try baby steps first, such as suggesting a little 'break' from the relationship so that you can gain more perspective in your own life. Then after a certain amount of time, you can gain strength to decide what to do.

If you still love him and he still loves you ( and you know this ) then maybe you shouldn't be thinking of becoming single but instead trying to figure out how the two of you can make it better..It isn't hard to become single,you just do it..On the other hand anything worth working at and saving is not easy but is worth it.. So stop trying to make excuses and take the easy way out and GET TO WORK !!

You eventually get over him but you will never forget him. No sense in being in a relationship if neither of you trust the other. That is just a big ball of tears and hurt waiting to happen. The sooner you end it the sooner you can move on.

I would consider myself single if I met the following conditions; no commitmennt to anyone else, no obligations to anyone else, and prefering it to be that way. Unrquited love hurts badly, Been there done that, got the tear stained T shirt - but you get over it. If you meet someone else who you want to commit to I hope you wont be carrying any baggage from a previous relationship, that is a real put off. Good luck!.

Sorry, hon, but if their are control and trust issues, love won't be enough to keep this going. If you want to be single, you have every right to be. Just tell him how you feel, right out, without any nuance.
