One of our "cheap" bombs costs @ $20,000 and it takes alot of them to be effective. Our job in Iraq is over. Shouldn't we begin to re-establish a determination to care for our elderly and disabled?

Why not start a blitz of letters to your ELECTED OFFICIALS as to why they are dipping into our Social Security funds for other FAVORITE projects and ask them WHY THEY don't have to pay into Social Security and can draw a pension AFTER ONE TERM IN OFFICE? I did, and my reps never answered me. Didn't think they would, either.

What good is Social Security to a country who is under constant threat of terrorist attack and has no "National Security" ?

Are you under some kind of delusion that there are not any people out there who want to kill you, me, this nation? If so, you have had your head stuck in the sand and are not aware of your world around you.

Radical Islam has one purpose and one purpose only... and that is to make the world Islamic. You are an "infidel" to them. And that means that they are commanded by their religion to kill you. And that is their intent. That is the threat of terrorism. Just because you have not, apparently, been the victim of a terrorist attack does not mean it will not happen. Do you honestly mean to tell me that you have forgotten 3000 dead Americans in the streets of New York City and Washington DC? Are you that callous to those victims who died such horrible deaths?

The job in Iraq will be over when the terrorists are on the run, and no sooner. Why would you dishonor our troops by bringing them home with an unfinished mission? Didn't the US government dishonor our brave Vietnam vets in such a manner? And now you're asking that we do the same to these fine soldiers.

Perhaps if we did not have to pay for Nancy Pelosi's family to fly back and forth weekly from California to Washington, at the taxpayers expense, there would be money in the Treasury for the elderly.

If we do not defeat these radical Islamics.........there will be NO social security or personal security for that matter.SS is a failed program that is going bankrupt. If I could forfeit all of my SS,get out of the program and invest my own money in very, very safe IRA,I would have a much better retirement.Plus the politicians could not use my money to scare old folks or spend it on "pork barrel" spending like they do now with SS. That is why we get a negative return on our money in the SS program.

To think that Social Security is a sustainable program is delusional. It is nothing more than a government-sponsored pyramid scheme that will certainly, inevitably and catastrophically come crashing down if it is allowed to progress to that point.

The issue that ought to be discussed is how to dismantle it in the least painful way possible.

Why not let me invest in my own social security ? Mixing defense spending and domestic spending is a old worn out argument. If we do not invest in our military, there will not be any social or any other type of security.
