I agree with those who say that shaving is the best, most aristocratic option. If, that is, it is not a wooden leg. If a wooden leg, proper watering may cause it to grow into a new tree. The tree in turn may bear fruit in the form of new wooden legs.
Those legs could be the start of a new line of very fashionable wooden legs bearing the Badgrumble Crest.
The could become quite the posh rage in short order. Some may give both an arm and a leg to own one.

Shave the hair. Removing your foot is a very bad idea. It's not worth it.

Plucking (tweezing), Shaving, Depilatory creams and Waxing are temporary hair removal methods.
Waxing usually lasts for 3 weeks, but it is painful.
Electrolysis and laser hair removal are “permanent” hair removal methods but are expensive and you have to find a trained professional, otherwise your skin could be damaged.

Okay sensitive area in your case mrsb, have one question to ask...is it the wooden leggie?
If so it may be the roots trying to re-gain a hold in the earth - my solution to that one is never stand in one place too long else you may never move again.
If it is not the wooden un dont get it removed else you would have two wooden leggies and the sneaky woodypecker would be after you again!

You could wax it to avoid stubble rash or if you simply wanted matching feel, I wonder if there is such a thing as foot wigs?
