Vista is an operating system that "runs" your computer.

Excel is a spreadsheet program you use for financial/accounting information.

They have nothing to do with each other so you can't compare the two.

I won't be upgrading to Vista (from Windows XP) until all the patches/fixes are in place and all the hardware I own has new drivers for them. No way will I pay to upgrade and then replace all my printers, scanners, etc.

As I'm sure some others will no doubt inform you, Microsoft Vista is ( supposedly ) an Operating System, as is Windows XP

Microsoft Excel is a Spreadsheet application.

No comparison.
