Hi,

i need this information for a story i'm writing - just in case you wonder ;)

details:
a young man (who is well trained and knows some kungfu, but is ways from being a real fighter) tires to escape from a dark cellar where he's kept prisoner and meets with one of his guards. My man now needs somehow to kill this guard without seeing really much (besides the guard's flashlight) and without any weapons at all...

it depends on the presure , angle and location but men have died from a single punch so of course they can die from a single kick sepecialy chuck noris he could kill the devil with a roundhouse

Forget Kung Fu unless it's San Shou or San DA.

I would suggest to have this man take the flashlight away and blunt the guard to death. Maglite are made out of steel and very strong, and could be about a foot and half long and strong enough to be use as a club.

Apart from a hard-as-rock back-kick to the throat, killling the dude is a far-off option. A snap kick to the head would bring about whip-lash, which could break his neck. Since your guy cannot see the guard well, its hard to estimate shots so the best option would be to sweep the guy to the floor and take off, that was the intention wasn't it? The other guards can mistake him for the escapee and barrage him with kicks till he dies!

Well if you change the "average" kungfu man to the Tang Soo Do black belt Chuck Norris then it is very possible. The guard would try to shoot Chuck with his gun but the bullet would not fire because the fear of getting roundhoused by Chuck. Chuck would then ran towards the guard jump up and reverse roundhouse him in the head killing him.

-Ninjas want to grow up to be just like Chuck Norris. But usually they grow up just to be killed by Chuck Norris.

-Chuck Norris cannot love, he can only not kill.

-Chuck Norris roundhouse kicks don't really kill people. They wipe out their entire existence from the space-time continuum.

But seriously i doubt one kick would kill someone him depending on the frame of the person. Im sure a kick from crocop can kill me since he outweights me by 80lbs and he has powerful kicks anyway. but more likely it would knock em out.

if you add some fantasy to your story you can kill em with a single kick...more realistically have him sneak up on him and snap his neck(thought this is a lil cliche)

go watch the bourne identity/supremacy or ask a ninja

A single kick would almost CERTAINLY NOT kill a man. The person would have to sick, old and with brittle bones or a head fracture already. Yeah someone said use the environment, that could work. Why doesn't he plant a kick on the guard and take the flashlight and bludgeon him?

WTF YOU MORONS TALKING ABOUT PRESSURE POINTS?
Pressure points aren't magic, you can kick someone in the nuts, they may not stop, you can do your silly crescent kick to the forearm and he won't drop what hes holding.

Use sheer dumb luck and the environment to kill the guard.... its formulaic but audiences love it.... for example Protagonist and guard struggle, Protagonist slips and falls on his butt, Guard grabs for empty place where Protag was standing before he fell, guard loses balance and falls onto rusty pitch fork hidden in the dark shadowy basement. It's gruesome, cool and believable, much more so than some lucky kung fu death blow.... If you make a ton of money with this story you are writing, I want a cut!!

Yes, but it depends on how out-of-shape the other man is and if the trained man hits him in the right place. Also, the trained guy could trip the guard with one hit, causing the guard to hit the ground and either die or be knocked unconscious.

If the person that knows Kung Fu kicked them in a pressure point by luck (it takes more than average skill to locate a pressure point in a fight and hit them their) and if the Kung Fu guy hit really hard, in addition to the other guy being rather weak. The odds are that an average Kung Fu guy couldn't kill anyone with 1 kick, but a very adept Kung Fu person with a bit of luck facing someone with less than their skill, could probably kill a person with 1 hit. (A kick though).

No that's just a myth... i know kung fu and have a black belt acn't do nether... it's like the myth of blackbelts being able to stop a bullet, it's only in the movies. I have a black belt and when shootings have happened in my nightclub that I have wiorked in I drop to the floor or take cover some how.

won't happen and the only way dumb luck could happen is if the guard fell down the stairs and broke his neck.what do you mean well trained but a long way from being a fighter?it's the other way round?
EDIT>it's very easy to kill someone but a kick wouldn't be the way to do it.

Killing yet another guy or woman in strive against isn't continuously heroic. this is purely heroic if the guy doing the killing helped shop the lives of his comrades or harmless civilians or bystanders. if so there is not any egocentric reason different than to stay away from pointless deaths. Killing yet another in the warmth of hobby is obviously egocentric, inspired via thoughts and would not serve to guard the lives of others.
