Personally I say no. I feel that you will lose your friendship if you tell her prematurely, and even if you wait 1 year it still may happen. She is probably still grieving. You do not state enough info such as your age and when she lost her spouse. It will take her several years to get over her spouse... any advance by you in the meantime could be harmful to your friendship. If you are willing to risk this, then go for it. If not, just by being there for her already will be an example of your feelings. You also may be in love with her because you feel so very sorry for her. The situation could very easily leave both you and her vulnerable. Never seek out someone when they are vulnerable as it usually ends up a slap in th face... If this love you have for her is lasting, and she falls for you also... she will eventually let you know. In the meantime... dont focus only on her but be there for her when she needs you along with sometimes when she doesnt. Time will tell. Best friends is what lave is about.

Not sure how much "elder than you means" but if like you are 20 and she is 22...fine, I would let her know . You dont say how long she has been a widow, that would also make a difference. She may not be ready for love or to be loved just yet. I would just let her know that you are nuts about her (love isnt always the understood word), and let her know that you are there if and when she is ready to move forward again.

She's 22 and what's your age? Are you raeady to take up your responsibilites? Doesn't matter whther she's unmarried or a widow, what matters is that she already had faced a fateful blow. It would be a disaster for her to face the second blow. Better prepare yourself in all aspects befor you can think of spending your life with her...

Express your inner feeling politely at appropriate time and place. Not just friendship and kicking out after you get some other girl. Convince her for marriage and marry. You will lead a very happy and satisfied marital life, without any problem whatsoever.

of course, of course. what's wrong with falling in love with a widow and your best friend as well. a lot of couples were best friends before, before they became husbands and wives. she will not be innocent of your feelings for her if you tell her what is inside of you. age does not matter, it is love that matters. so come on dude, go to the next level. good luck!

ask her to sit down. explain your feelings to her. tell her how genuine you are. if she says no. tell her thank you and carry on with your lives as just friends. because by keeping your love for her in your heart is not going to help both of you. how sure are you that she is not waiting for a proposal from you. furthermore, age is not a barrier.

if you love a person it is not necessary to go and tell her especially if she is going through a tough phase in her life it will be very important if you try to make her happy with little joys of life and as the time passes you can express your feelings to her
