Perhaps someone was at the wrong door, or maybe kids were playing a joke. It could have been a very strange dream. Some dreams are very convincing. I wouldn't worry about it if I were you. There is no secret, hidden meaning -- much the same as when a person calls a wrong number and then just hangs up.

It depends on far your bedroom is from your front door. Less than 20 feet, it means you need to get more sleep (8 to 10 hours, ideally). More than 20 feet, it means you need to get a doorbell.

It could be someone playing a prank. Does this happen a lot? Are there any plausible reasons? There is always more to it than meets the eye. Investigate it then get back to me.

Probably they got the wrong door, and had realized their mistake by the time you got to the door and had moved on.

Maybe it means that Jesus is trying to get you to let Him in to your life.
Revelation 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. 21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.
Why don't you go to church and find out?
