Use a roller as much as you can.
It is faster & leaves a evener finish.

If your painting a room you need to have both. The paint brush to cut in the corners of the room and the roller to finish painting the walls. So both are a good idea. It will make the room look way better.

Roller. Used properly a roller can give you a nice egg shell finish without brush marks when dry

For artistic designs, strokes and blends, paintbrush
