You have to run a connection from the digital tv box to the vcr.

There several ways to do this. The simplest is to run the TV Out cable from the tv box to the Cable (or Antenna) In on the VCR.

Then run another cable from the TV Out on the VCR to the Antenna In on the television.

Tune the VCR and the TV to the default channel (either channel 3 or 4 in the US).

Now the annoying part: All the channel changing must be done on the digital tv box. The tuners on the vcr and tv must remain on the default.

This means that if you do timer recordings on the vcr, you must specify the default channel on the vcr recording menu with the correct time. But you must manually set the correct channel on the digital tv box. If you forget, you will record the wrong thing!

When digital tv boxes are involved, vcr's are not convenient. It's much easier to use a Tivo box or a Digital Video Recorder from the cable/satellite company.

Good Luck

Connect Digibox to VCR with SCART cable. The remote for your VCR should have an "Input select" button. Select E1 or E2 and you can then record the signal from the Digibox.

Unless that is your VCR is itself digital, in which case I don't know !

No need to get anyone in, you can do it yourself! Check out the web-link below - it will show you how, using a diagram. Use the input select button on the VCR remote to get the AV option to record from the digi box.
