If you are a craven, unrepentant sinner, and will be a distraction, you should be put out. if anyone believes they have a RIGHT to fellowship, they will learn the hard way that they have duties and responsibilities as well.

Yes, they consider it to be separating the wolves from the sheep. If a church member is having difficulty with an area in life (such as drinking, perhaps an alcoholic) the the pastor will do his best to help the person, and most are very understanding of the problem. But if a person is rebellious or causing trouble and showing no desire to try, then the pastor will feel that he has to take action, until such time that the member shows that he is sorry. And most pastors should know that people who live in glass houses should not throw stones, but some are intolerant and impatient. It all depends on the circumstances (which usually are not known completely to most people).

I'm sure some of the pastors(so called) that are around today would have a go at suspending you for some crazy reason and if they did in my opinion you would be much better off out of that church...drinking isn't committing a sin, if it was a lot of people would be asked to leave..and what do you mean by sin? we are saved by the GRACE of God and this means were forgiven for all past sin and are now a NEW CREATION. Made in the image of God Himself. If you have a problem your pastor is there to help and guide you, not threaten you or cast you out of God's house...
Go somewhere you are loved and accepted , the pastor is a servant just like you he is no better..This in my opinion is why a lot of Christians get a bad reputation and why a LOT of people don't want anything to do with the church and why a LOT of people leave the church, some become hurt, bitter and despondent and rightly so, and some just continue to walk with the Lord on their own growing in faith..
Ask yourself do you need this rubbish in your life, it's to short..listen to your heart...one more thing, who is going to suspend the pastor when he sins.
Hi Pix, just added this when i realised you asked a question on tithing..would you like some of us to pray for you?

Of course he can, he's the one in charge of the local church and he will make an example of those not living the christian way 24/7....but be aware, some of them are huge hypocrites, I used to be a christian, but lost faith when a respected pastor reached a series of sermons on the seven deadly sins, and just befoe he got to the last one, he was exposed as an adulterer! He was married with two young children and had done the exact opposite of what he'd preached about.
You are meant to live the lifestyle 24/7 and not just when you go to church meetings, if you cannot, better you make the decision and move away rather than wait to be removed from the fellowship

There is a Biblical progression of how to handle someone who is in ongoing and public sin and will not repent. It follows Matthew 18. First, one person approaches the other to speak privately, confronting in a gentle, loving, but firm way. If the other person won't repent and be restored, then the first person is to bring one or two others. Eventually, we reach a point in which the unrepentant person is separated from the church. The goal is not to have to "suspend" some sinnner, for we are all sinners, but the goal is for the person to seek forgiveness and be restored to godly living.

Seems to me like a very small church if the pastor knows what everyone is doing, if that is what you mean. I can tell you that we are ALL sinners whether in or out of church, including the pastor. The thing is to try and do your best. Jesus said ' who is going to cast the first stone? and they all went away.

Has he heard of forgiveness? He may be on a holy roller coaster trip, sounds like a control freak but hey, he'll get over it especially if you go and drink a bit further out, maybe some soul needs saving at the George and Dragon and the only way to reach em is to buy another round, christianity in action lol

that is quite done - they preserve on with the training and traditions of adult men quite of the training and traditions of historic New testomony Christianity. Biblical reality grow to be once a respected, respected, authoritative beginning that church homes and society as a rule would base their lives on as to what grow to be ideal or no longer; people did no longer have difficulty understanding actual from incorrect because there have been absolutes society lived through quite of a worldview the position "reality" is regardless of occurs to be your human being reality. What passes for Christianity in immediately's submit-present day international has been decreased to a phoney, personal fulfillment/prosperity holiday with dissimilar guy-made courses and schemes. for this reason, we were decreased to an undesirable society it is experiencing the type of marvelous number of kinfolk complications, violence, immorality, ailment, laxity, materialism, etc. in many approaches this suits the outline of the seventh church of Revelation 3:14-21, the church in Laodicea, which i imagine is a prophecy of the apostate fake church on the top of the age it is Financially wealthy yet spiritually poor, they are "wretched, pitiful, poor , blind and bare." And besides the undeniable fact that the Lord stands on the door and knocks, they could quite listen Him. He would gladly are available in if invited, yet unluckily he's been left outside. Scripture DOES prepare is that fake teachings would upward push up even from between church leaders, and that Christians ought to judge the training of those later church leaders with Scripture, which on my own is infallible (Matthew 5:18; Psalm 19:7-8; 119:100 and sixty; Proverbs 30:5; John 17:17; 2 Peter a million:19-21). yet 2 Timothy 4:3 predicts that maximum gained't difficulty checking, for it says: "For the time will come at the same time as adult men gained't submit with sound doctrine. quite, to in good structure their personal needs, they are going to assemble round them a marvelous type of instructors who say what their itching ears prefer to take heed to." The Ministries of the favourite Tele-evangelists and large Mega-church homes are exhibiting signs and indications of pleasing this prophecy.

Pix the body of Christ is the Church, this is not a building or an organisation. If you join with people who worship in a building as part of an organisation you may be aliening your self with their particular beliefs and as such may be under pressure to accept them.
