The reason for fasting in religions is precisely so that you start seeing and hearing things in your weakened condition. Nothing to do with clarity just sugar deprivation.

Yes I have a few times and it was helpful for me to remove some of the every day distractions of life. It is amazing how fuzzy my thinking and focus can become.

Like turning off a TV or radio, removing the thought and intake of food can allow me to "tune in" to what I am seeking.

The only time I have fasted is when I ran out of money to buy food and beer, and cigarettes.

hahahaahahahaha. Do you think that GOD would really want you to starve yourself?? What would this possibly do to further any sort of connection with a higer state? It is not healthy, treat yourself better than that, im sure your GOD would want to see you healthy, dont you think?
