What color highlights look good with black hair?

The undertone for naturally black hair is actually copper and gold. Some have used burgundy red highlights on black hair. Blonde is a bit too much and fire red highlights isn't exactly in style.

I suggest you get an additional color to make it look three-dimensional and not too chunky. A lighter shade of brown should do.

my hair is black and I went with copper high lites and I personally think it looks fabulous. With black hair u cannot go with blondish streaks --get real. Copper is the best way to go and u will not be disappointed. Sort of like a diva back in the old days with Liz Taylor --use the vintage ook--it will be beautiful

My friend highlighted mine with blonde streaks although the actual colour came out golden I have dark brown hair, I have had lots of positive remarks from friends and family..
