Hello, my husband had a liver transplant 4 years ago and although HE didnt have different DNA the liver that was donated was, that is one reason you must take anti rejection pills. He had to take them immediately following and now for the rest of his life. If there are any more questions you have let me know. We went to one of the best hospitals around and had to take classes before and after the transplant. I will try to help in any way I can.

As noted by the first response, only a donation from an identical twin would have the same DNA. That is why there is a chance that the recipient's body might reject the donated organ, and they have to take immune-suppressing medications for as long as they live.

I think the Dna of liver would be different unless it was donated by a identical twin.
