I divorced my ex-husband about 5 years ago. I live in another state. My ex-husband has now moved to another state. I left my job and came to take my daughter back with me.
However, my mother-in-law keeps telling me that I can not raise my child alone and that I will never be able find someone else if I want to get resettled.
I have decided to go back to the other state at the end of the month. I can not tell my mother-in-law because of her pushy nature.
I try to avoid her as much as possible. I don't like talking to her because she keeps pushing me to get back together with her son and I am not interested.
How should I deal with her though when she makes the remarks that are mean and hurtful?

You are a parent now, Just see her as an obsticle in your life, you know if your daughter will be better off with you or her. She has lived her life and raised her kid, this is your kid and your life, live it.

If you get your daughter back without problems, then you should have no other problem. Leave all this behind an start a new life. The only thing that seem to matter for you is to take your daughter back with you. Do that, if nobody stops you, and let your mother-in-law keep nagging to herself hereafter.

first ,you are divorced ,now where is it written you cant do it on your own,,, you ex mother in law will all ways be a part of your chils life, but you did not married her ,the thing is you got to stand up an tell her to butt out,, if it ment for you an you ex to get back to gether it happen, but let no one push you in to any thing,,, you got to do what you think right for your self an your child, i might be best if you did put some miles between you an her,

When you divorced your husband, you divorced your mother-in-law. The only role she has now is as a grandmother. Tell her something about the horse she rode in on.

trust your self think thoroughly about a situation and folow it through totally your self .
do something you have been stifling your self;f many other times and grab it by the horns and do it accomplish something you haven't bee able to accomplish before do a task that takes deep thought and courage ( on your part ) a and do it.
look inward for your own Ansrews.
have drive .
surround your self w/ like people to encourage you through and be positive .
use tact when dealing w/ obviously smarter people in your circle .
educate your self to things you have been scared to do before.
pray for gods strength to guide you ( or your religious leaders strength) may you be blessed w/ all you want .

You tell her it's no of her business, that you don't love him anymore and PLENTY of woman raise kids SUCCESSFULLY alone. Get you guts up and for your childs sake stand up to this horrid woman and get away from her or soon she will start on your kid.
