I'm thinking about replacing my old PC with Mac but I still wonder if it can do everything like my old one. By the way, do you know whether Mac can LAN with PC?

Mac are best in getting job done than just doing tasks on a pc. Mac does everything a pc does. I have been using Macs and PCs are 12 years. I really like how mac does the things. With Boot camp u can install windows vista or XP and u can hardly find any difference when u work on Windows on mac.

Macs are pretty good computers. They are very simple to use, they have a friendly interface, and what they can do is [somehwat] unbelievable! The only problem is that there isn't much software that is suported on a Mac Operating system, but there is a simple solution to this (actually there are three), Parallels, Boot Camp, and Crossover. Let me explain what they do. Parallels is a virtual machine, which that is when an operating systemis run on another operating system with the help of software to make it think that you are either upgrading to that OS or you are just installing it on a PC, and that is pretty much all it does. There is more to Parallels though, now once you downloaded Windows XP, Windows Vista, or even any a Linux OS, you can run any of the other programs that you had on your PC. Boot Camp-this is exactly what Parallels does just it doesn't support Windows Vista, Yet! It might once when Macs new Operating system comes out, but i'm not sure when. Another thing is even in order to install it you have to have a USB Keyboard and Mouse, or a built in Keyboard and Trackpad or USB mouse. Another thing is that it is a dual boot, and that means that you have to boot into one or the other, you can't run both Mac OS X and Windows XP or Vista at the same time, umike Parallels. One good thing about it is, it support Dirext X, which means that you can run all your old games on it. Crossover- may i just say that this product sucks! DO NOT get this, it is terrible, okay so i got it bcause i thought that it would actually work for my game and stuff it wouldn't even download 8 of them, it would say that my installation is incomplete. Now let me tell you what it does. It was made so that you could run all of your old Windows XP programs without even having to use a Windows XP Operating System, but I find it more confusing and a waste of time. Now as for the pricing of these Crossover costs $59.95. Boot Camp is a free download at Apple's website, but you have to pay for the Windows OS. Parallels is the most costly, you have to pay $79.99 for the program itself and for the Windows OS. There is more information about all the features, software, and what Macs do at apple.com. And yes I think that Macs can LAN with a PC, I don't remember but as far as I know they can. I bet you have a headache form all that info know. Have a great time shopping

Don't give in! MAC is for prissy people who care more about looks than practicality! PC's are also quite cheap nowadays. I believe LANs will work with both platforms.

You can integrate a Mac into your network and should be able to configure file sharing however do take note that your selection for software for Mac may be a little limited.

Please decide carefully before rushing into your decision.
