Allaah chose him even though he had grown up as an orphan and was illiterate, knowing neither how to read or write. All good qualities and virtues were perfected in him, to the point of ultimate perfection. All these good qualities were combined and firmly established in him, something which no one else can attain except the Prophets whom Allaah protected and guided. This combination of perfect qualities is one of the greatest proofs of the truth of his Prophethood (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him).

The revelation of Allaah was bestowed upon the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). The Angel of Revelation, Jibreel (Gabriel), who is recognized by all the People of the Bo
ok [Jews and Christians], came to him, and when he received revelation, there were unusual effects on him that indicated the intensity of the effort involved in receiving the Message of Allaah from Jibreel, upon whom be peace. His Companions witnessed this when he received Revelation and they believed that the revelation was something that came from an outside source and was beyond his control; it came to him from (Allaah), the Wise and Praiseworthy.

Allaah supported the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) with physical miracles, with which he challenged his people. Among the most important of these were the splitting of the moon and the Night Journey to Bayt al-Maqdis (Jerusalem). They were unable to match these miracles, and so they were a decisive, divine testimony to the truth of his Prophethood (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him).

Allaah supported him with miracles and evidence for people of reason and understanding, the greatest of which was the Qur’aan. This was the greatest sign, which contains in its pages miracles of both style and content, which all of mankind cannot match or imitate, even if they gather together for that purpose. This is clear from the statements of the most eloquent of the Arabs, who were completely unable to match it. The Qur’aan was – and centuries later still is, praise be to Allaah – an eternal miracle as is evident in its brilliant style, its information about the Unseen, its fulfilment of the promises of Allaah, the superiority of its laws, and the fact that its rulings are appropriate for every time and place – in addition to the fact that it has such a moving impact on people’s hearts.

The Qur’aan refers to the signs and proofs surrounding the person of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), which testify to his truthfulness. For example, he was free of sin and trivial spitefulness; he grew up illiterate in the Arabian Peninsula, and did not receive any religious knowledge from beyond its borders, nor did he spend time acquiring any religious knowledge. When he reached the age of forty, he brought divine knowledge that none of the earlier or later generations could produce. He also received special protection and care from Allaah, which kept him safe at times of crisis; if it were not for this protection he would most certainly have been doomed to destruction. None of this could have happened except to one who was truly sent from Allaah.

His coming was foretold in the Tawraat (Torah) and Injeel (Gospel), and some of the People of the Book saw that these prophecies applied in totality to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), which led them to embrace Islam. There are still passages in the Bible, in both the Old and New Testaments, in the versions that are accepted by the People of the Book, that clearly refer to the Prophethood of Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) – for example in the Gospel of Barnabas, which is considered by Christians to be the most authentic Gospel.

The Message of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) was not unique to him, but was in nature and content similar to the message brought by other Messengers before him. Allaah had sent Prophets and Messengers, such as Moosa (Moses), ‘Eesa (Jesus) and others, to the Children of Israel, and great numbers had believed in them and borne witness to the truth of their Books, which were similar in general terms to the message brought by the Qur’aan. This was eloquent testimony to the truth of the Message with which he was sent, especially as it belonged to the same type of Message to whose truth they had testified.

When Allaah sent Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) with the same Message as the Prophets who had come before him, the Qur’aan came to confirm their Books and their Prophethood, and to call people to believe in them. So when the People of the Book disbelieved in him and his Book, it meant that they were disbelieving in their own Books and Messengers. As the Qur’aan contained the same principles as their books, and confirmed them, this meant that it was the least likely to be fabricated or to have come from a source other than Allaah, because all of them came from Allaah, may He be exalted.

In summary, then, the proof of truthfulness is quite clear in this case. The evidence is there both in (historical) reports and on the grounds of common sense. This will cure the ill (i.e., the one who has doubts) and quench the thirst (of the one who longs for knowledge), as Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): “… Indeed, there has come to you from Allaah a Light (prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him)) and a plain Book (the Qur’aan), wherewith Allaah guides all those who seek His Good Pleasure to ways of peace, and He brings them out of darkness by His Will unto light, and guides them to a Straight Way” [al-Maa’idah 5:15-16].

In order to provide the Christian mentioned in the question with proof and evidence, it should be sufficient to give him a translation of the meanings of the Qur’aan. If he believes, then praise be to Allaah, and if he turns away, then destroy not yourself in sorrow for him (cf. Faatir 35:8). Allaah leaves astray whom He will and guides whom He will, and He is the Most Knowing of Guides.

I got kind of bored reading your statement. You claim That your prophet split the moon, have you heard of quarter moon, Half moon, & Three quarters moon & a full moon. With all you had to say, you have not proved one thing to me except stupity.

"Allah chose him". This is circular, the choice is established by him being a prophet, which is established by him being chosen.

"All good qualities and virtues were perfected in him". This is either circular or untrue. There are many accounts of actions by Muhammed that in others would be taken as evidence of being less than perfect (ie the statement is untrue). The truth of the statement can only be saved by the assumption that Muhammed was doing Allah's will - which is what the argument is trying to establish and is therefore circular.

"Unusual effects" was taken by his companions to be from something outside him. Allah and the Angel Gabriel are "added in". The outside source could just as well be Satan, the Flying Spaghetti Monster or some very good hashish. The companions could also be mistaken in their belief that it was an outside source.

The Moon miracle. The sole source for the moon miracle is the Quran. If something that spectacular had happened it would have a) been noteworthy b) been visible over the world and thus c) been written in any number of chronicles. Please point to the mention of the moon splitting in, say, The Anglo-Saxon Chronicle, as it isn't we can safely assume that the "miracle" did not take place.

"The Qur'aan refers". Circular again. Your arguments are trying to support the contention that Muhammed brought divine knowledge and yet you use as "evidence" of this that "he brought divine knowledge".

His coming foretold. Not as an evidential basis. To count as evidence the verses in the Torah and Gospel must discount all other alternatives but Muhammed. If I say "My friend Bill will knock on my door at two o'clock" then knocking on my door at two o'clock is evidence of being Bill. If I say "Someone will knock on my door at two o'clock" then knocking on my door is NOT evidence of being Bill: being Tim, Susan or the gasman are perfectly compatible with my statement. The verses do not specify Muhammed.

Confirming the previous messengers. Either a complete refutation of Muhammed bringing divine knowledge or untrue. If its the same then he is not bringing it but repeating it, if he is bringing it then its not the same and therefore he is not repeating it. The argument, again, can only be saved by circularity: the previous books were corrupted and Mohammed corrected them. The only evidence we have for that is the word of Muhammed, you must assume the truth of Mohammed's words in order to furnish the evidence that Muhammed's words were true.

In summary EVERY SINGLE PIECE of "evidence" you give is invalid.

Unfortunately, according to the Bible, people like Muhammed (peace be upon him) have been deceived by Satan who comes masquerading as an angel of light and who seeks to draw people away from Jesus the Son of God by giving them a substitute or "anti-Christ" to worship instead.

Saying that the religion of Islam "honors" Jesus by calling Him a prophet of God is like me saying that I honor someone by calling them a primate. It's true that humans belong to the order of primates but so do monkeys. People were created in the image of God and Jesus while a prophet is the eternal Son of God.

1 John 4:1 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world. 2 By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, 3 and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you heard was coming and now is in the world already.

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made....14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.

2 Corinthians 11:14 And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. 15 So it is no surprise if his servants, also, disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. Their end will correspond to their deeds.

But isn't muhammad still dead? Isn't what the Quran says? Jesus has risen and sits at the right hand of the Father in heaven!! That is the good news. He has shown us a way out from death and the grave and hell. This what my Bible says!

Sara...If you believe in Allah you must agree with his words. Allah says he is the God of Abraham and the God of the Bible and that his word can not be changed. The God of Abraham required that his prophets be in agreement with his word. Is the Qu'ran in agreement with the previous word of God? the answer to this is clearly no and all Muslims agree the word of God in the Bible was changed....This is just one of many problems...Allah says his word can not be changed and he is the God of the Bible and Abraham...If you don't see a problem wiht this consider the ways of God before Allah....Are these the same? No but yous ay it is because the word was changed and Allah says it cant be changed....Now consider four thousand years before the Qu'ran God always revealed his truth through more than one source no prophet could be in disagreement wiht God's word or his prophets....Muhammad's Qu'ran is not in agreement wiht the previous prophets nor his previous word...yous ay it is corrupt...I sa the God of Abrham say it cant be corrupted even the god Allah says his word cant be corrupted...how if they are not the same can they be the same God? they can't If they are not the same and in agreement Allah is not the God that was worshiped before Muhammad...There is no way for Allah ot be God why Muslims must insit they are the same is insane...They are not the same God no one ever worshiped this God before Muhamamd twisted scripture and Allah did not exist until Muhammad invented his the God of Abrham does not agree wiht Allah therefore you God did nto exist before Muhammad...How could your rach any other conclusion? Read the words of the prophets and see it is not the same God therefore Alah is not honest to say hes the same...therfore he can not truly exist.

The world's principal religions and spiritual traditions may be classified into a small number of major groups or world religions: the vast majority of religious and spiritual adherents follow one of Christianity (33% of world population), Islam (20%), Hinduism (13%), Chinese folk religion (6%) or Buddhism (5%). These spiritual traditions may be either combined into larger super-groups, or into smaller sub-denominations. Christianity, Islam and Judaism (and sometimes the Bahá'í Faith) are summarized as Abrahamic religions. Hinduism, Buddhism, Sikhism and Jainism are classified as Dharmic religions (or Indian religions). Chinese folk religion, Confucianism, Taoism and Shintō are classified as Far Eastern religions (or East Asian, Chinese or Taoic religions). Conversely, the major spiritual traditions may be parsed into denominations: Christianity into Catholicism, Eastern Orthodoxy, Protestantism, Oriental Orthodoxy and Nestorianism (see Christian denominations) Islam into Sunnism, Shi'ism, Sufism and Kharijites (see divisions of Islam) Hinduism into Shaivism, Vaishnavism, Shaktism, Smartha and others (see Hindu denominations) Buddhism into Theravada, Mahayana and Vajrayana (see Schools of Buddhism). About 4% of world population follow indigenous tribal religions. About 12% of world population are irreligious. I don't believe that anyone's beliefs can be 'proven'. It is simply a matter of faith. I believe that there is a greater force above me and this being could be the Buddha, Muhammed, Jesus, Mary, etc etc
We can not prove any one deity's existence, we only have faith.
Blessings upon you....You can believe whatever you choose, you have my full support.
