This is the way every cult religions act's to isolate their followers apart from the rest of the world , and brainwash them step by step.
The pastor will hug the follower and " I'm happy you have come " you are in light - they are in dark ?
Why the christian / Islam followers think - they are unique and the outside world is moron. they are gifted . .? out side world is evil and scary place :-) and everything is written in their dumb books?

Born again Christians are cult but not the word Christianity because Christianity is not a religion. It is a word that describe christian people who claim to be christian but in truth they are not christian because of some cult activities and this is the cause why many people do not believe Christians. .there are people who call themselves Christians but in truth they just want to destroy the belief for Christians b because Christian are the true followers of Christ

According to your definition all religions or philosophies or academic institutions or sports clubs or high school clicks are cults.
Every group that places any kind of value on their beliefs is inherently downplaying other beliefs. Simply by reaching a conclusion one is downplaying the beliefs of others. That does not mean they are not accepting of others and cannot interact with others. Thus the phrase never talk about religion or politics at the dinner table.

There are lots doing that but to call the book dumb because of the dumb things people do isn't right.
I have had a relationship with Jesus(which is the word) for over 20 yrs. and his word has kept me safe and has loved me when no one else has and has always fed me the truth.
I hate that people misrepresent my Lord and Savior but it isn't up to me to be on a band wagon and defend Jesus although I do feel compelled to tell what he is to me.

depends on your view, all religions start out the same, someone goes around preaching their beliefs, and it builds from there. i suppose a small religious following is considered a cult, but if you are able to build up enough of a following, then you magically become a religion. don't tell christians that though, that'll just start a dumb arguement.
