Indian and Chinese food are like wine-there so many regional types and all of them can be very good. For something different look at the Rasa restaurants . They specialize in food from Kerala which is wonderful and each restaurant is a litlle different. One is vegetarian where you must have some avial. The other has fish. The Kerala fish curry is different, and outstanding. Try the curry with appam or Poottu. The food is authentic and not diluted or altered to suit the Western palate.

TIKKA MASALA is the best indian restaurant in London. Trust me the food there is just delicious and very tasty. And the chef there is also very popular for his indo-chinese dishes which are also very mouth-watering. Any food you try in Tikka Masala would amaze you with its different spices and flavours. Well i have been going with my family there for a long time. So go on, have a night out for a curry at Tikka Masala Restaurant. By the way, ask the chef, Mr Rana for his speciality and new indian dishes which he might have for you to reccommend. Trust me Tikka Masala is a great restaurant and it wont let your taste buds down. Take my word for it. thanks. Hope this helps.

Try La Porte des Indes. French influenced Indian food from French enclaves such as Pondicherry. Very smart, at a price in Bryanston Street W1H.

For real Indian food you should go to Brick Lane in Aldgate. It is famous for the restaurants, there are about 20 in one road. I have been in to some of them and always had a great meal.
Yum Yum enjoy.

It's a bit different but how about Amaya in Knightsbridge. Not your traditional curries that you're used too. Also, quite fancy if you want to splash out a bit. Went in October and it was lovely.

Otherwise, how about Eriki in North London...it's quite good.
