ROFL!!! Where do I sign the petition!! Actually I want to enroll my husband LOL Actually here in Canada there's a show called " The Day the Women went" they take women from a town, mostly mothers with kids, but not necessarily and their other half is supposed to keep up with the household duties-as per instructions of the woman leaving-during that week. It's lots of fun to watch all the men trying to cope with the kids and such LOL I know if I did my husband would have a heart attack!! and he's rather helpful around the house but still has no memory for anything... oh well... In any case, I loved your idea!! I think with minor tweaks here and there we should present it to the networks! It'll be great success!!

maybe you could let the people in the club (kids, i'm guessing?) cook the meals. the ppl running it would help, of course. try to find recipes that don't take too long with waiting (ie baking something for a half hour) because they will get bored. if you can't find any recipes like that, maybe while the meal is cooking they could make dessert that doesn't need to be cooked (especially if they're younger kids-- they ALWAYS need to be occupied).
if this has already been done, sorry.

Hard! I don't know what your old ones were like!

Here's a list of 'all in one' dishes-try varying ingredients.

Curries beef- Chicken-pork-veg.
Stews and Casseroles. Beef, Chicken, Pork, sausage.
Cottage Pie/ Chicken Pie/Steak and kidney.
Chinese Stir Fry's.
Bangers and Mash.

Browse through a few cook -books in your local library.
Start planning your menu with the main ingredient e.g. beef/pork/chicken/soya beans/fish/lamb(v.expensive).
Then build around it with the recipes. Take into account fruit and veg in season, which tend to be on offer, or other 'special offers in your local supermarket/supplier.

A few books that i find helpful, and use regularly are:

Practical Cookery-try and get an old version-6th - 8th edition- there are more recipes in it-try secondhand bookshop, I couldn't find it on amazon.

Hamlyn All Colour- out of print, but you'll be able to pick up one 2nd hand easily. You can buy hamlyn on amazon for a little more than a fiver.(see below)

hope that helps-sw

Lasagna, spaghetti bolognase, pizza bases and the kids could put their own toppings on the top, casseroles, sausage plait, macaroni cheese, pies (for example, chicken and ham), quiche, cottage or shepherds pie, meat cobbler, pasta bake, toad in the hole, bangers and mash, home-made burgers and potato wedges or fish pie.

All served with plenty of fresh vegetables or salads.

me and my friend kind of made this recipe up but its the best rice/curry thing EVER! takes about 20 mins...

ingredients
-about 200g rice
-175g frozen peas
-2tbsp oil plus a bit extra
-1 chopped onion
-3 rashers of streaky bacon chopped up
-1tbsp curry paste/powder
-1 egg beaten
-soy sauce [optional]
-250g [whatever you want] e.g chicken breast chopped, prawns etc

boil water in a pan, add the rice and leave for 10 mins to cook

while thats cooking, heat the oil in a frying pan/wok, add onion and bacon and stir fry for about 3 mins [until golden]

add curry paste/powder, stir for like 3 seconds, and then put the prawns/chicken in and stir for like 1 minute

with a big spoon push the mixture to 1 side of the pan and add a little drop of oil on the empty side. pour the beaten egg into the oil and cook like you do scrambled egg. when its done stir it all in together

add the rice and peas. mix all together. serve straight away

if you want add a little bit of soy sauce

this is actually the nicest dinner ever, my little sisters love it and its really easy and quick. i don't usually put the soy sauce on for them cos they don't like it that spicy. also you can add like green beans with the peas, they don't seem to realise they're eating vegetables! lol

Spaghetti bolognaise, lasagna, spaghetti and meatballs, meatloaf, pizza, chicken noodle soup, and minestrone, home made sausage rolls are the first to come to mind. You don't mention what you already serve.
Good luck.
