Everytime I get out of the shower, I get a comb and start combing away. It gets straight and perfect like I want it to be, but after a couple of min. my hair is puffy and frizzy. And when I go to the hair stylist, my hair is straight for a couple of days like I want it to be. I'm doing something completly wrong! Any tips or tricks?

P.S. I dont blow dry my hair, as blow drying burns your scalp into black marks.

Try using a Redken product. My friend had the same problem with her frizzy, poofy, curly hair. Using Redken made her curls turn into looser, flatter ringlets. No, blow drying is fine on the warm or cool setting. When you get out of the shower, comb and let air dry for a few minutes. Apply product or a mousse of some sort, then blow dry with the dryer far away from your head on high flow at a warm setting. This should do you good!

Also, you can let your hair dry completely naturally and use a straightening iron. Whichever works best for you.

I've blown my hair dry for years, and have never recieved black marks on my scalp. I believe that would only happen if you direct the dryer on the highest setting to one spot on your head for like 20 minutes.

At any rate, my hair gets that way too...especially on days when it's raining (humidity = frizz) I condition my hair with a really good conditioner. Then when my hair is wet I use a leave in conditioner (I use sunsilk leave in conditioner for dry hair) When you blow dry your hair, you have to do it on the lowest setting, and don't point it directly at your scalp..or leave it in one spot for too long. A good thing to have is a diffuser, it spreads the heat out a little more and doesn't direct all that super hot air into one spot.

Someone also suggested FrizzEase. It's a clear serum that you use sparingly, but really works especially for little fly away hairs.

You can also try using a flat iron. Not all of the time, mind you, but occasionally. It'll straighten your hair quickly and efficiently. But like a blow dryer, it can eventually damage your hair. I know people who use them every day, which I don't think is healthy. But if you have a date or something and want your hair straight, it's a good way to go.

Frizzy hair is frustrating, but can be tamed. Good luck.

The combing makes it frizzy. Try combing before shower or use a wide tooth comb or wet again a little bit after u have combed. There is a good Matthew James product called Smooth (operator) or something like that. The best product I've found.

Okay, I have the same problem as you but I use the Garnier Fructis--Sleek and Shine Shampoo and Conditioner and it helps tame the frizz/puffiness/and/dryness. Your not going to end up not damaging your hair though. Most hair products damage your hair. My hair is really healthy since I was it once every other day and I straighten it alot, but if your just staying home, you really don't need to straighten it. My hair stylist even said doing that will help tremendously with helping lessin the damage the straightener does on your hair. Hope this helps. --Amanda.

no, your wrong, blow drying is perfectly fine if you put it on a low setting. before i started blow drying my hair, my hair was poofy and frizzy too. blow drying is the best thing that will cure your hair. and dont brush your hair when its wet, thats what causes frizz! use a wide toothed comb. and may i suggest useing shampoo and conditioner that reduces frizz. good luck!

try using some new shampoos. Most of the shampoos tell what they do like frizz control. My hair is also frizzy and puffy i cant manage so i just try to to find a hairstyle that goes with it. Never leave your hair open.

after washing your hair use a conditioner. then rinse it out. then use a conditioner especially for frizzy hair. leave it on for a minute then rinse. blow drying wont burn your scalp if you spray your hair with a heat protection spray before you use a hairdryer. also, dont point the hairdryer directly at your scalp.
