I have had my hair relaxed for 8 years, but due to studying my hairdresser suggested putting it in human hair braids, which I have been doing for a year...

..Starting to find my hair is really dry, and shedding a fair bit.

(The braids are aren't too tight or anything like that)

Any advice or tips on any homemade treatments or products on the market (UK) which you would recommend...?

All advice on braids and treatment would be appreciated!
Many thanks x

i know this may sound weird but quit washing it with the braids in......... the water makes ur hair stiff n brittle because it only gets to ur roots n not the rest of ur hair.....wen u take em out (which u shud after max 12 weeks)get ur hair steamed n conditioned(cholesterol, pink lotion)......correct me if i'm wrong, but ur pic shows a black girl n winter is SO NOT good for our hair...so avoid leaving ur hair out in the winter...oh n bdwy a little more than normal shedding is normal if the braids r in for more than 5 weeks if ur rate of growth is relatively quick......

It's not that you need a specific treatment, but you should be conditioning your hair between styles. You should also give your hair a break from braids every so often. You could try hot oil, or just a cholesterol treatment

your probably not losing any more hair than you were before you just notice it more when you have your braids taken out. when your hair is braided and sheds it has no where to go but if it was out and loose you would nt notice as much- get what i mean? also for the dryness just make sure you use a good conditioner
