this guy... we just met recently and we've been talking for like a month.. he told me once that he is still trying to forget that girl that rejected him... he sometimes jokes about accompanying me in wherever place that I wanted to go to... or he sometimes ask if I like to see him play basketball or whatever... he texts me but when I text back.. he won't reply... i don't wanna be his excuse to forget his past... i don't wanna be his cover up... do you think he likes me?... is he sincere?... I want to forget about him before I mess up with things and fall for him... this is too confusing... what are his real motives?.. please help. thanks!

Sounds like the timing may be bad for the both of you. When you meet the right person, everything has to click on both sides. If he is trying to get over someone, then I would say meet other people, and have fun doing that. Don't live your life for a guy, and don't wait around. If he truly cares about you, he will be honest about it and tell you eventually.

I would just, as a friend ask, in a concerned way, about the one that rejected him and if he's over it yet. Maybe he doesn't care about or want to be with her, maybe it was a blow to him and he's not use to it so he's dwelled on it a bit and verbalized it and made it seem important when really it may be nothing at all!

i think he's trying to get over his ex by using you as a cover up, i mean he's asking you to come watch him play ball and he wants to go with you everywhere. he's trying to show that he's with someone new so dont bother, once he gets over his ex he wont care about you

the only way you're gonna find out is by asking him. ask him how he feels about you. if he says he likes you in that way tell him you dont wanna get messed about. be brave and just ask! good luck :)
