No! He knew about it and he didn't stop it! It was not his will to do so.
Humans were permitted independence and self-rule as a consequence of Adam's decision to disobey God.
Independence and self-rule implies that those who enjoy this also take care of their own problems.
Christians are awaiting God's kingdom or the Kingdom of heavens. Think about what the word kingdom means!
It refers to a country ruled by a monarch! Thus God's kingdom refers to God's rule that will operate both in the heavens and on earth. Once this is installed God will prevent such disasters. (see references below)
In Rev 5 the Saints are shown to become rulers of the earth--co-rulers with Christ. In Rev 21 prevention of present-day problems is promised.

These countries that were hit are filthy, disease riden, non-believers. I have been to Thailand and although it is a beautiful country (nature wise) the people are constantly in Sin.
Indians, in the poor parts where the Tsunami hit, are uneducated humans, all they know is raping and murder and fishing.
Maybe God was cleansing the planet of thousands of sinners, to make room for some God fearing believers, not interested in listening to the words of satan.

There must be better refutations of god than this - they can say it tested mankind, freewill, suffering makes us better people, god doesnt want to interfere, blah blah blah blah blah!
He doesn't exist but there's better evidence than mass murder. After all god explicitly endorsed mass killings in the bible - they could say that its proof god DOES exist because most of the 300 THOUSAND people who died were not christian... Many were Muslim - Yet the Islamic countries provided next to no support unlike the West, funny that.

It was Satan! And that proves we should worship Satan, as God obviously either has no power over Lucifer, or chooses not to exercise it.
