breaking addiction is very hard to do. like quiting smoking, breaking any addiction takes practice. Practice reducing your time spent on the computer by imposing a daily limit. do not exceed the daily limit. set a timer to go off when its time for you to stop using the computer. Get off the computer when the timer goes off. do something else, like clean the house, read a book, go outside, take a hike, or a bike ride. Keep your mind occupied. also set limits for spending money on computer gadgets and gizmos as well.

Try to occupy yourself in different tasks; like, reading, writing a dairy- this helps a lot as you write all that has happened in your life and what are your plans, what do you like to have ; in this process you explore your self or write a Journal instead.
make a time table and try to follow.
try to make friends, try volunteering ;go to any place where you can help people like hospitals, old age home, foster homes.this will give you a sense of peace and achievement .
try to learn a new thing a take up a new hobby.
Meditate and pray.
GOD BLESS.

Give yourself a limit. Go on in the morning and perhaps only at night for a certain amount of time, and keep it off when not in use. Also, have other interests and hobbies. Remember the internet is not real life. Not by a longshot.

you'll have to start within yourself and apply some discipline, and then explore the ways you can break the bad habit. i'm starting to break my bad habit, nail biting (which actually have evolved to eating my finger's skin), by using band-aids on my thumbs. maybe you have to substitute another hobby for that computer addiction. and one more thing, you have to know WHY you are addicted to it, in order to stop it. what is it in the computer that makes you want for more? comtemplate for a while and you'll start to find a way to break that habit of yours. good luck!

its a work in progress. been addicted to my comp for a long time , but i manage to pull myself away from it with the help of other addictions like ps2 and tv.
If u and ur friends can organize something outdoors u could keep urselves away from ur comps, i can vouch for the outdoor stuff coz i do that whenever possible.
