Free wills - Believe in Bible fundamental but believe you have to get re-saved every time you sin. Very Legalistic. Old Fashion type beliefs.
Primitives - Believe everything is predestined including salvation.
Independents - are fundamentalists that are very legalistic. Believe true salvation permanent. Very right wing.
Southern Baptists - Very organized. Fundamental. Once saved always saved. Tend to be moderate.
That's a very condensed version. Go to the bookstore and you'll find "The Book of Denominations" very helpful.

When the word First is placed in front of a Church Name it simply means that it is the First Church of that Denomination in that aria,(Goldsborough First Baptist or Fayetteville First Presbyterian).

Free Will Baptist differ from other Baptist Denominations in that they do not believe in Eternal Security,(Calvinism).

Southern Baptist is the largest Baptist Denomination, and believes in Eternal Security.

Regular Baptist is similar to Primitive Baptist, and are known for there lack of Musical Instruments, and extreme Calvinism.

Independent Baptist Churches are very Conservative, and tend to hold exclusive beliefs, and are Calvinist.

All Baptist Churches with few exceptions are Fundamentalist Churches.

The Pentecostal church speaks in tongues and it relatively is seldom heard in the Baptist church besides the undeniable fact that this is been wide-unfold to be in the Baptist church. The Holy Spirit is spoken of extra in the Pentecostal Church, yet different than those 2 mild adjustments, they're the two Christian church homes. the ordinary doctrine is the same bearing directly to Jesus Christ. i've got enjoyed going to the two in my lifetime. a solid Bible believing church isn't common to detect as we communicate. i've got basically at present moved and that i nevertheless have not discovered a church.

there is no difference because the meaning of the word baptist is the person who baptize another. like St John, the Baptists, he was a baptist. during his days and the person who baptized Jesus Christ. The pastor on the baptist Church was lost to follow the old true path to heaven and he is still wanting to have companions to be lost. He could not understand the word baptist. To be sure of it, see your encyclopedia or dictionary

There are no basic differences between the Baptist churches. The delivery might be different, but the message is the same.
