-For all sad words of tongue and pen, the saddest are these, 'It might have been.'

-Hearts will never be practical until they are made unbreakable.

-The tragedy of life is not that it ends so soon, but that we wait so long to begin it.

-Ever has it been that love knows not its own depth until the hour of separation.

-The saddest thing in the world, is loving someone who used to love you.

-You wondered how you’d make it through. I wondered what was wrong with you. Because how could you give your love to someone else, yet share your dreams with me? Sometimes the only thing you’re looking for, is the one thing you can’t see.

-The bitterest tears shed over graves are for
words left unsaid and deeds left undone

-I cry for the time that you were almost mine,
I cry for the memories I've left behind,
I cry for the pain, the lost, the old the new,
I cry for the times I thought I had you

-Not all scars show, not all wounds heal
Sometimes you can't always see
The pain someone feels

-Tired of trying, sick of crying
Yeah I'm smiling, but inside I'm dying...

-When you refuse me, you confuse me
what makes you think I'll let you in again
think again my friend go on misuse me
and abuse me I'll come out stronger in the end

-Look behind the mascara
and the shiny lipstick
look a little deeper
and maybe you will see
that this girl you are looking
at really isn't me

-Feelings I used to have aren't there,
And for the first time in so long,
I really just don't care...

-I want to be remembered as the girl who always smiled
even when her heart was broken and the one who could always
brighten up your day even if she couldn't brighten her own.

-Lie to me and tell me everything's okay,
because soon there will come a day
when I wont be here for you to tell me
that when I'm with you, you're happy...

- didn't want to admit it, it was easier to lie,
And hide the hurt and emptiness, to smile instead of cry

-

If you look inside a girl's heart
You'd see how much she really cries
You'll find hidden secrets, best friends, and lies
But what you'll see the most
Is how hard it is to stay strong
When nothing's right, and everything is wrong

-When will it be my turn, when will I ever get anything in return?
Why must I be the one to suffer all this pain,
and yet in the end have nothing to gain?

-Sometimes we must get hurt in order to grow - we must fail in order to know.
Sometimes our vision clears only after our eyes are washed away with tears.

-So I'd prefer to be remembered as a smiling face,
Not this ******* wreck that's taken its place

-Everyone's going to hurt you sooner or later you
just have to decide who's worth going through the pain

-Sometimes when I say “Oh, I’m fine” I want someone
to look me in the eyes & say “tell the truth”

-I'll write your name on a bullet so everyone will know
You were the last thing to go through my mind

-My eyes burn from these tears
You think you'd learn over these years
Good things won't last forever.

-I’m tired of hiding behind these lying eyes
I’m tired of this smile that I don’t even recognize

-Pain doesn't hurt if it's all you've ever felt.

Nothing gold can stay
Quote from American Poet~ Robert Frost (1874-1963)

Nature’s first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf’s a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.

The Sad Zither
--by Li Shangyin (813-858)
--Classical Chinese poem from Tang Dynasty

Why should the zither sad have fifty strings?
Each string, each strain evokes but vanished springs:
Dim morning dream to be a butterfly;
Amorous heart poured out in cuckoo’s cry.
In moonlit pearls see tears in mermaid’s eyes;
From sunburnt jade in Blue Field let smoke rise,
Such feeling cannot be recalled again,
In seemed long lost e’en when it was felt then.

I miss you not at all my pet, I give you up to her,
who took my place, without a trace of envy or regret.
But I perceive how much I'd grieve if I would have had
to give to her.
That most enchanting man of all
The man I thought you were.
