You can not donate blood if you had Cancer and chemotherapy there after. Only if You are in good health and If not taking any medication for any chronic disease, you may be able to donate depending on the reason for and the type of medication.

Cancer cells mostly attach Blood while multiplying and the blood of the patient will have effect of the disease. While screening the blood of the prospective donor of blood it will be found and he will be rejected.

Secondly the patient will not be able to give blood as he himself will require blood as chemotherapy destroys very many blood cells and in many cases it takes years to gain normal levels of blood counts.

It is also better not to give blood considering betterment of health of the patient and also the receiver of the blood-

I get calls from the American Red Cross a lot because I am B+ but they stopped calling when I told them I was being treated for cancer. They told me I could donate again in 5 years, but I would rather be safe than possibly pass cancer on to some unsuspecting poor soul.

Never. Having cancer is an automatic disqualification.
