It doesnt have to be expensive to be sweet! My boyfriend of 2 years gave me a book on our last anniversary. He didn't buy it - he wrote it! It was like a big spiral-bound book with photographs, letters, drawings, old diary entries and all sorts in, and it was the best and most touching present I've ever received. Only problem is, I don't know how he's going to outdo himself this year! :)
Depending of course on how old you guys are and how much disposable income you enjoy lol, you could whisk her away somewhere beautiful for a couple of days. Menorca is beautiful, Southern France is very romantic and not too touristy, and there are some very beautiful parts of England too, depending on where you live.
On the day itself, I recommend you stay in and cook diner for her. Even if you're a cr*ppy cook, do it for the cute factor lol. I've had some of my most romantic, special and perfect evenings at my own home sitting on the sofa. :)
Good luck! I'm sure you'll think of something very special. Happy anniversary to you both. x
