If ever visited the Alhambra, how did you imagine the lives of the women in the Harem to feel on an every day?

I was there in 1996 and found the rooms in relative darkness, with the sound of water from a central fountain continuously running very delightfully tranquil. There was also an outdoor rectangular passage, which was aromatic with the scent of all different and exotic flowers. At those moments and over all truly, I, a Western woman did not feel I would have minded being one of the wives to one Sultan . . and living in a certain silent understanding among my other sister-wives!
