Thru out the ages in real life there have been qualitative advantages of one countrys system over an another .

Examples would be German Panzer Tanks having a 5 to 1 kill ratio to over Shermans ranging to an F15 never having been shot down in actual combat .

I am writing a short story where 2 cultures use vastly different approaches to make military biological androids sort of like Blade Runner . One side has a definite qualtative edge in senses, speed , reaction speed ,durabilty and training .

Im am trying to come up with a hypothetical kill ratio for our good guy biological android that is above something like a panther tank in WW II but lower than an F15 eagle having never been defeated before . Our good guy alien biological android is made of flesh and blood and is effective at his designed role . I dont want to Rambo-ize him per se . So military and sci fi buffs would be a good kill ratio number that would be thrilling but wouldnt make him Topper Harley ?

Oh and Topper Harley is the protagonist of Hot Shots Part Deux . Toppers role loosley parodys Rambo's with an obscene kill count. The best scene in hot shots (okay well may be one of em) is when Topper kills an enemy soldier using a chicken as an arrow.

I'd say that answer would depend on your story.

The higher kill ratio your android has, the more enemy androids you are gonna have to include in your story,

Your also gonna have to think of just how the enemy androids could kill your android.

If you make your android to hard to kill or to easy, this will effect your story line.

you might want to story board somemore. IE:

what role do you plan on having your good guy androids play in the over all story?

are they going to be the weapon that wins the war, if so what military threat will they have to defeat?

If you are going to have 100,000 bad guys that have to be defeated, then you have to determine how they will be killed, if all by good guy androids, then you will need to base how hard is it going to be for the good guys to actualy make these androids, how many good guys the androids will kill out of that 100,00, then base your kill ratio on that thinking.

are you good guy androids only going to fight bad guy androids or both humans and bad guy androids.

then you might need a kill ratio vs humans and vs bad guy androids.

any number you pick will work, your just gonna have to write your story line around that number.

thats why you need to determine the sizes of the two armies first, then base the kill ratio on what it would take for your good guys to win.

The F-15 is not a good indicator, not enough air to air combat experience to make a logical estimate. and no air to air agaist the first string.

a better choice might be to look at vietnam, kill ratios were low in the early days and got better after top gun and red flag schools were opened.

I'd give the "good" android a 2 to 1 ratio against "bad" androids giving your "good" android a slightly higher tech superiority. 10 to 1 against humans in hand to hand combat but only a 5 to 1 in open armed combat, given the androids armor and armament. Remember that even though a human is easy to kill they still can out think an android. So tactical or urban combat would reduce it to 3 to1.

These are realistic ratios that still make your android a badass!

I have no clue who Topper Harley is and the technology you are talking about is very old. Sounds like it might make a cute cartoon charachter though.
